I like the auctions, but i think that 5PM eastern time is a bit too early. But then, I'm a night owl.

I like them.
the time is a big problem for me, it would be much easier if it were earlier.
Some people in Europe and other parts of the world cant always stay past midnight to participate. an earlier time would allow almost all time zones to participate.

we should have one in morning EST and one at night EST....

but really, they totally inflate the NP$ economy. Just a couple months ago you could get NP$ at .018 - now it's .023...

The bank exchange went from .025 to .023, so yes, there is inflation. The fact people don't sell for .018 anymore is just an issue of supply and demand.

I think the auctions are great! I try to make it for every auction..I agree they could be a little bit later but in general that's a pretty good time for most everyone except us on the west coast lol

But yeah, I really like the auctions, its nice that they're now weekly

It isn't really that much more expensive...You can usually get NP$ for .02 conversion rate, that's just a tiny bit more than .018.

Just save up a little bit. Or you could get NP$ from the incentives board

Woah. That's kinda late. But I would have no problem with it. That's 11PM EST.

I think to strt at 8PM EST would be late enough. Even 9PM EST. You have to take everybody into consideration. Of course, there are a lot of international NPers, as well.

I was a part of the 3 auctions which took place in week during the 1milliont post celebration, but 5pm ET is very early for me since its 4:30am here.
If it was a different time i would definitely be there!

Eh, I was not happy with my auction, I wanted more than 350np for wefk.com . I think I may just pay the penalty - I believe it is 15% - and keep the domain.

My opinions on auctions:

1. The time is perfect for me. Though any one fixed time would create problems for somebody somewhere. Moving time creates confusion to regulars.

2. Economy, I do not know much about economics, buy why should we consider it as inflation, I would consider that as NP is valued more, thats all.

3. My experience, great to very great so far. I participated in 3 auctions, sold two names (one for profit)

I like the NP auctions, and I have gotten myself some pretty good and cheap domains from there :D

The time is not a problem with me, as that translates to 6AM here, and I'm already awake by then, having coffee hehe :D

From what I've seen, I like them a lot. It's a great idea, and if I really want a domain I will make sure I'm at the computer for the auction.

Sure, the live auction is a grat idea. more then 100 people were in chat yesterday, seems like it's becoming a weekly event.
The time really hurts for me too.. I must stay awake after midnight if i want to join it.. but i guess finding the time right for everyone wouldn't be easy.
I vote for 3/4 hours earlier :P

I like them, but timings are completely unfair for non-US people and no one seems to care for that, which is the worst part. At least, they can be held on weekend, but no one listens.

The intro of 50np entry fee is an interesting idea and is a useful control against listing modules which should only be dropped.
50np = ~$1 which is the rate for afternic bazaar, so in effect is a speeded up 'proper live auction' version.
The live auction will develop as a key cornerstone of NP (the Sothebys of Names)

I like this idea~ as long as enough people go to both it should work fine. I love the auctions but always miss them since I'm swimming at that time. It would be good for all the non US people and still works for US people.
