I have a domain in mind, which I will certainty develop. It is a strong keyword and is available in a number of the 'lesser' extensions.
I have decided that .am and .in are the strongest contenders(not great I know, but due to development I figured that the strong single-word keyword made up for the poor extension)
Really I just want your opinion on which you would choose, .am sounds better with the domain and I feel it would be better incorporated, but if I ever did come to sell, .in may be more valuable?
Thanks for any input:tu:

If you are going to be developing those domains, keep in mind they are going to dramatically hinder your ability to rank for the keywords in the U.S. market.

This is a point, one which I had thought about...however I feel for my purpose this isn't a major issue. Thanks for your comment though

Armenia vs India...

Armenia with its 3,300,000 population compared with India's 1,200,000,000 (thats BILLION)

Tough call :p

If you were just looking for resale - all things being equal for resale - go with .in (if only because your future resale prospects for the domain would be better with the .India extension).

However, if you plan to develop the name, rankings competition for developed sites, these days, for any top keyword is very tough - even if you had the .com....Fresh & relevant content & SEO & promotion on any site is the key to search engine success, regardless of extension.

Since you don't have the .com - and, if the keyword works best for .am - and, if you plan to work really hard on the right elements on the site - then, it probably won't make a lot of difference whether you build the site on .in, or .am....

...Go with the extension that is most brandable with the keyword.

Don't forget many people may mistype your domain for the .com equivalent, when trying to access your website.
