Hey nP members,

what was your fastest domain sale?
I mean the time between registering or buying a domain and the final sale of it?

Of course the 'speed of a sale' (negotiations) depends on the desired sale price - but, also apart from this fact, it's an interesting question I think - which means your answers are the real interesting part of it.

So, share your 'fastest sale' experience here!

  • I did my little research and found out the average price for A+LLL(where LLL is dictionary word) around $5000-$10000 and more for super premium items..
Nice. Can you tell me by research, do you mean past sales history of related domains?

My fastest sale was 5 days after the name landed in my account - The name was a $5 closeout buy: prediq.com. It was previously sold via BrandBucket.com (see link):

https://web.archive.org/web/20110816014008/http://www.brandbucket.com:80/prediq/

I got an email via whois asking if the name was for sale and I said yes make me a offer - First offer was $2000 and I gave a counter offer of $5000 and after a little back and forth we ended at $3700 - It took about 20 minutes to agree on the price and five minutes later the buyer had opened an escrow transaction (he also payed the fee).

Immediate sale. Got an expired name in the bargain bin - $5 plus reg. Sent an email right away, ten minutes later got a response, follow up email with price, 5 minutes later got counter offer, emailed back - done. Took a couple days to paypall and transfer because I was busy. Price - $300. Not too many people pay me $286 per hour. :xf.smile:

Our strategy is "price 'em high" so our sales take a while longer. That said, we bought one name for $69 and sold it for $14,488 in 3 months (see https://www.domainsherpa.com/logan-flatt-smartmonday-flip/). Shortly after that one, we bought one name for $2,300 and sold it for $34,488 in 4 months.

If I remember correctly, seller received an offer. I may be wrong.

It was a simple BIN sale from a Uniregistry Market landing page.
