Do you have a template (maybe a Wordpress or Joomla template), that you use to base all your mini-sites and place Adsense on?

I am looking at developing out some of my domains into 10-20 page mini-sites and want to try and use as high CTR template as possible.

No, they're just open source css based templates.

Heh, nameclerk - I was using that exact same template for a while last year on a site.

This is a great source for Open Source CSS Design templates - not for WordPress or any CMS, but they're clean, professional, and best of all, free (although you often have to leave a link to the developer in the footer)

Here's a free WordPress theme by the people who custom designed themes for John Chow and Shoemoney (it's the one on the right; the other two you have to pay for):

I'm using a couple of WP Themes that you do have to pay for; I have the unlimited licenses versions of them, so I can reuse them and remove the footer links:

(I'll be using this one on netmeg.com for my own blog, as soon as I have time to start it.

(This one is great because the back end options screen makes it *really* easy to heavily customize)

I made my own template. It needs improvement, but I like doing my own stuff. I've learned a couple of things from this thread, so I'll implement that. Eventually maybe mine will be decent - I just need better domains. :P

It's called Warm Blue. I did a lot of modifications to suit my needs but the original was a pretty good starting point.

^^^THIS^^^

I use this site from time to time to pull templates from. I believe that search engines like the simple format of a CSS based design over something like a joomla site or something that is running a buch of scripts. Could be wrong but that site provides tons of easily editable templates.

Also, joomla makes making a mini-site like eating cake. Once you know your way around joomla there is no turning back because it is that easy.

I think Weebly.com is a great alternative for mini sites. Especially for the lazy domainer type, like me :) Very easy to use with drag and drop elements and loads of functions (rss feeds, google maps, games, videos, pics, html/java code, contact forms....)

I think they charge $70 for 1 year, you can host up to 10 domain names. They have a free version, you can have 2 web sites (I think). Free version has less functions and you cant edit the footer information.

I have a couple of simple mini sites with Weebly, if you want check out

Thanks, currently I'm using freehostia, their free version allowed to host two domains; also I think they are offering $6-8/month with unlimited hosting.

Anyways, i really liked this option; minimum i can convert my keyword domains to minisites instead of parking.

I seem to never use the same one twice, as I keep finding templates I like more! Someone at NP posted a link to this WP theme, which I think is my new fav because it looks clean and professional.

I've noticed the same thing, I've always assumed it's that google likes sites which respond quickly, not much responds as quickly as plain vanilla html.

I've been using apthost.com for some time now, $2.95 for unlimited addon domains. Their service has been okay, considering the price. Some time ago, I compiled a shortlist of unlimited domain hosts here: http://www.unlimitednamehosting.com

Hostgator also has a Free Site Buider as well as 4500 free high quality templates. Something to think about.

My experience with MiniSites

I have tried weebly too - CoconutCoir.com , EnticingDomains.com, but I had a hard time getting the sites to show up in Google even for those domain specific words.

But the couple of sites that I build in Google Pages - DubaiMegacity.com and Tonedbutt.com soon showed up in google search.

I tried Squidoo too but only made pennies. However I have had better luck with minisites than with domain parking.
