Love this part of the year as the world's most popular, over the top, and totally ridiculous song contest takes place this weekend.

And it's domain is Eurovision.tv
(and yes, they also own Eurovision.com but chose not to use it)

The contest this year comes from Kiev in the Ukraine and will be watched live by more people than watch the Oscars AND Super Bowl combined - over 200 million.

I should have added that if anyone is watching Eurovision it is always worth while trying to get the BBC coverage - as they really don't take it seriously at all - and it is more of a commentary comedy fest.

If anyone is having a Eurovision party - have a great time. And don't forget to look out for the horse-headed man stood on top of a large white ladder!!!!

And don't forget that the Irish phemomen known as "Riverdance" started as the interval act (sort of like a half-time show) in the Ireland-hosted Eurovision Song Contest in 1994!!

Riverdance! I'd so forgotten that, but it was brilliant at the time.

And without Eurovision there would be no 'Mamma Mia' musicals as Abba would never have been heard of.

Abba won with Waterloo back in the day.
