I don't see how this can damage Yahoo! as they already have problems on Wall Street. If anything it MIGHT help drive up the price a bit as MS will be forced to start proxy bidding.

hmm MS have to issue a guarantee to the shareholders to protect the fall in share price due to the hostile bid.

The 'do no good' is not referring to the share price but more towards the company as a whole. The jobs? People working inside? look at a bigger picture ya.
