Yahoo Domains

I really dislike yahoo right now. About a year ago i decided i wanted to take advantage of there $4.00 domain names. Man was that a mistake. Some of them never propagated even after a year. I contacted there support team on several different occasions telling them the domain names i purchased from them doesn't work. They kept telling me there senior supervisor would call and help me out with it. 4 months went by still no response or help from yahoo. At that point i pretty much gave up on them. After 4 months i initiated transfers of several of my domain names. Some went threw others didn't. I tried contacting support again and still no help. They told me at that point if i didn't like there service i could cancel my domains with them. I was like cancel and move somewhere else there like no cancel and forfeit the domain names. So after a year of having there service that doesn't work they charged me for all the domain names i transferred and the ones that never propagated. I called there complaint center and started a ticket. 10 days later they get back to me. They told me they wouldn't issue me a refund. I am very upset right now and I'm shaking as i right this. These people stole money from me for domain names i transferred 6 freaking months ago and several domain names that never propagated...... Is this legal? I mean let's say i went out there and charged someone for something they don't have in there possession isn't that wrong and illegal? The only thing i have to say is the fight isn't over. I want everyone to know how they treat there customers and how you should stay far away from them.

1. Be sure you've moved all your domain names away from them.

2. Be sure to cancel all your services with them after transferring out.

3. Be sure to do a chargeback after everything has been cancelled and moved
out.

If people ever question your claims, be sure to be able to prove them.

I suggest you give them a call. You should be able to find a toll free number on the yahoo domains site. Any toll free number will do. I signed up for their sponsored search listings and the support was very nice. E-mail support is crap. You need to actually talk to someone in person to get the problems straightened out. Otherwise you will have a different person replying to your ticket all the time trying to help you which gets aggrivating.

I called them multiple times. Every time i got someone that couldn't understand English. I had no idea since there service is not user friendly that you have to cancel that domain with them even after you have transferred it. That seems very suspicious. I would have never known in a million years that i had to do that. I figured that the domains where still in my account because they still showed up there after the transfer was complete. You would think they would work with you and figure hey he is no longer owner of the domain names and maybe charging him for something that's not in his possession isn't right. It's more then obvious that system is set up to confuse the customer so they can get more money out of them. I mean if not they should make the domain names drop off the account like everywhere else once the domain names have been successfully transferred. Plus every time i called them i got a different story. I have never seen a company run in such a way. I mean i can't believe i was charged for domain names that aren't even with yahoo anymore how horribly corrupt is that. I called them and said what am i getting for the xx dollars you took out of my account and they said nothing and have a nice day. When someone steals my money i get very upset especially when they get away with it. I feel it's my duty to warn everyone out there about these peoples business practices. I may not have the money to take them to court for fraud but i can sure warn the people in the domain name community to stay far away from them!

Thanks to there domain names never completely propagating i lost 1,000's in lost business and several clients. I have no respect for a company that doesn't support there product.

Bottom line: Yahoo should never have ventured into this in the first place.

But...business is business...and it leaves a bitter taste in the mouth. :yell:
