I read somewhere you can't transfer domains from yahoo

Not that you cant transfer your domains out, because stopping transfers is illegal.. they cant get away with that. BUT, it's a hassle. Basically Yahoo is a reseller for melbourne IT, and the latter is not that great a registrar either..... also yahoo is known to flounder when it comes to tech support...

go with godaddy.... @ 4.19 it's not such a bad deal :)

You can transfer domains, but you have to pay the next year reg fee to get it out. It's worth it to just register domains for 5 years and transfer out if you are unsatisfied.
