.Xyz does not look bad when it's a premium name, that actually looks damn good. I don't think that's true of most of the other new gTLD's.

.Xyz (and .club) are getting bone dry for chip/good keywords. Good luck regging anything good if you were on the fence about spending 70 bucks, you're much better of with .net (but I like .net too)

I'm sure this list isn't that new but WOW I'm glad i grabbed a few .xyz early on. Take a look at some of the yearly renewal rates within this list. LLL.xyz ranging from 700.00 to 1300.00 per year. Loans.xyz 55k per year and so on.

Now that the registry has some money coming in from reg fees and premium listings, it would be great to see some TV ads. Expensive but always worth it

If it was just for a fast cash squeeze I'm gonna laugh (I wouldn't be surprised it's the domain industry), but it also means that they have more investment (they own a lot of .xyz). I think you can still register 10 years though with .xyz at the original price.
If they take a lot of effort with the true users (the people typing in .xyz/owning .xyz, not domainers) I think it will probably be worth sticking with- but we'll see. They're going to have at least some cash and they have an investment.
