Hi guys.

As I get offers for this domain now and then, I thought it might be interesting to have others' opinions about the value.

Yes, you read right - the entire, complete URL would be http://www.mw.

www.mw is a second level domain name registered about ten years ago under the national top level domain .mw, which is the country code for the republic of Malawi. One of three "www" domains that ever have been released to the public (th eother two are www.ac and www.com).

It got about 300 type-ins per day, most of them probably in error/unintended.

Malawian traffic? I suppose that once they find a way to have water, food and basic needs they may start to have some value for advertisers. I hope it will take just a few years, but I'm afraid that it will be a looong process.

The fee is $35 anually. When registered, the domain market almost didn't exist. The reason why I registered it (and why I keep it) is the - in my opinion - quirky name and the many typos.

Low $xxx. Any WWW.EXT domain could potentially get type-ins, but I don't see that happening as much with the MW extension. There's a good chance you could find an end-user whose initials are MW and would put a blog at the site, or a business with those initials (provided that they own mw.com).

Good luck! :)

This one is all about creative marketing; definitely need to look beyond the relevance to Malawi and forget about that, unless you have huge interest in erecting a site ABOUT Malawi;
Could potentially be huge value approaching an end user with the initials MW.
Far as I can find out, this is an unrestricted extension, you don't need to find a seller who's a citizen of that country; so the view's wide open.
It's an unusual name, but extremely memorable when used in conjunction with whoever has those initials; and I could feasibly see the following being very interested in this nice name, and worthy of contacting:

Merriam-Webster (dictionaries), at www.m-w.com
Mustang World (Mustang car collectors), at www.mustangworld.com
MW Software (software), at www.mw-software.com
MW Audio (audio equipment), at www.mwaudio.com
Water Hotel, Malawi, at www.mw-hotel.com
MW Scientific (various), at www.mwscientific.com
Men's Warehouse (huge clothing chain), at www.menswarehouse.com

It is a hard name to value; the above list is just for starters. Your name might be HUGE due to its being unusual... or no one may want it due to its being unusual. Wild price swing possibility here, depending entirely on how well you market. Large potential.

This name reminds me of a double-stamped coin...or one with a typo. Because it's rare, and because it can be used as a very specific corporate site (as bannen suggests), it will be worth a lot to one of those companies. The problem is letting them know it exists and is for sale. Being rare, no one knows how to look for it...and it's not the expected three-part format. If you can get past that hurdle, and don't mind waiting a bit, eventually you'll hit pay dirt of at least $xxxx.

How can you say $0 when he gets 300 type-ins a day? Mid xxx value.

mid-high $XXX

Maybe even more to one of the end-users bannen listed.
