ebookkeeper has many purposes. However, the site is specifically for the Accounting and Bookkeeping industry. Here is a list of what the site is for:
· Accounting and Bookkeeper Directory – Purpose of which is to help websurfers find an Accountant and Bookkeeper. Currently there are approximately 140 Professional Accountants and Bookkeepers on the directory. Some of the unique features include the ability for professionals to upload a brochure of their business.
* Also, started recently is a World - Bookkeeper / Accounting Directory
· Ask an Accountant / Bookkeeper – This is a newer free service offered on the website that has produced amazing quick SEO results by answering Accounting related questions and posting them on the site. The main purpose of this feature is to keep adding content to the site, and therefore growing the exposure of the site to web users.
· Company Job Postings – This currently free service allows companies to post jobs for free on the website. With Craigs list and other free resources we did not feel it was appropriate to charge for job listings especially without having a very large audience to guarantee results to posters. As the site grows Im sure this service could start charging a reasonable rate.
· Resume Search – This service is for businesses to search Accounting and Bookkeeping resumes. A very unique feature with this service is the ability for searchers to download an actual Microsoft Word Resume. There over 800 resumes currently posted from all over the U.S. These numbers grow daily as more and more visitors come to the site.
· Advertising – The site serves as an excellent source for advertising. Because the site offers allot of free content there is unlimited room to allow Accountants, Bookkeepers, or small businesses to place ads on the site. Currently the most common advertisement with the site is Google Adsense.
· Free Resources and Information – There is allot of free content to users of the site. Some of these include free downloads for the Accounting Community, Advise for Job Seekers, General Information about Accounting and Bookkeeping, and Chat Boards for Accountants to share thoughts and ideas.
Age of site:
The website has been up and running since April 2004. During this time the site has gone through several business model changes and website re-designs. The last re-design was done April 2006.
History and Description:
Owner is a bookkeeper/accountant and originally started the site to gain new clients April 2004. Due to the high volume of request from businesses looking for bookkeeping help, owner expanded to sell those leads to other bookkeepers June 2005. Eventually the owner closed down his bookkeeping business and dedicated the site to providing leads to other bookkeepers only with the bookkeeper directory. From there the site made one last change which is a full job site for employers, accountants/bookkeepers, with free information for web surfers April 2006.
Site has had professional SEO (Search Engine Optimization) done during September 2005 (no quick traffic schemes to get blacklisted) and is in the top search with several search engines and growing. All major search engines have indexed the site and its rankings are growing weekly.

· SOHOlaunch Site Manager – This is an Addon purchased a couple of years ago for the site. I have used Dream Weaver, Frontpage, Namo Web editor, etc… This is the easiest website manager tool and you do not have to be a professional website company to use it. 1) The International Bookkeeper Directory and Resume Search are new features just added this year. As the site grows these sales will increase. The pricing on both of these services are purposely very low to encourage signups.
2) The Keywords factor: Remember allot of the content on ebookkeeper.org is free information. Thus we have unlimited word search exposure. For the term bookkeeper we are ranked #5. This one keyword alone on MSN would cost you at least $1.40 per click to show on the first page. Of course there are tons of other keywords with all search engines. As you probably are already aware "bookkeeper directory" is number 1 on all the search engines.
3) The site is a PR5 ranking in Google. It will be growing more and more regardless if anyone does work on it or not. Im not trying to sell the site on the basis that anyone is going to make allot of money from it by itself.
4) I have put in at least $5,500 into the site which does not include the countless time I have spent on it over the last several years.
