.ws pyramid scheme

Has anyone else seen what the .ws people have set up to promote the name? 'Network marketing' - a pyramid scheme. You send a link to people which shows them a crappy video promising that they'll have total financial freedom. They even have a diagram in the shape of a pyramid.

It was so badly put together when I saw it I took it as an insult to my intelligence. If GDI think that they need to market it through THAT, they must be getting desperate. They're even advertising TM domains that are open for registration in their 'Premium Names' section, like napster.ws. This strikes me as incredibly unprofessional for someone managing a TLD.

Do you guys (like me) think that GDI are killing their own extension or is there some hope?

I actually know a little about their "thing", so let me try to explain.

First, please don't use the terms network marketing and pyramid scheme interchangeably - they are indeed different. Second, GDI has been doing this since May 2004 - and has existed since the year 1998 (I believe).

While many of their reps are pushy and stupid, I do know a few who are doing quit well (hence, my earlier questions about .WS domains).

Anyway, just thought I'd clear you up a bit. I don't like to see misinformation spread.

I agree. However, the way in which GDI are using this method is too focused on dragging other people in makes it more like a pyramid scheme to me.
