WP Question

I have wordpress installed on a domain in it's own directory i.e. "thesitename.com/wordpress" I want the blog to show up on "thesitename.com"

is it as simple as moving all the files from within the wordpress directory into "thesitename" directory? It can't be that simple. Would I need to recreate any files when moving the wp content?

Simplest was is to login to your wp admin go to "settings" change WordPress address (URL) and Blog address (URL) settings to http://thesitename.com instead of http://thesitename.com/wordpress hit save changes then move all your files to thesitename directory
