Wordpress plugin installed but cannot upload

I used fantastico on my cpanel to install wordpress 2.6 provided by my webhost, and I installed and uploaded a plugin (wp-o-matic) to my wp_content>plugins, but It doesnt show anywhere in my wordpress site plugin management that I uploaded it or that I can activate it....is it becuase I didn't install wordpress manually? What am I doing wrong? Thank you

Did you install the whole folder, and did you decompress the folder before installing? You can go to Fantastico file manager (through the control panel) to see if the files are actually in the plug-ins folder. If it needs to be decompressed, that can be done while you're there.

Also, sometimes the plugin can be located in a sub-folder. You be have it installed one up from the working folder. For example wp-content/plugins/hypercach/hyper-cach

make sure to upload all wp-o-matic folder

1. Extract wpomatic.zip in the `/wp-content/plugins/` directory
2. Activate the plugin through the 'Plugins' menu in WordPress
3. Follow the on-screen instructions
