It really isnt fair the type of money .mobi garnered in big dollar sales compared to .tv....

I have just seen the first .mobi.....Quote.com advertising on bloomberg and in the last second of the commercial - they state now available on Quote.mobi for your mobile......

How many .tv commercils have we all seen??!!!!

So why does or perhaps did? .tv struggle for decent aftersale prices?? Is it the dreaded premium pricing structure?? Quote.tv languishes in the premium available list at $3k per annum

Personally, and this is just me, I think it is the lack of clear pricing structure, and literally no pushing of the extension to the masses by the folks running the show.

Yes, yes, yes, I know that structure is clear to us, but we have all seen plenty of new people ask questions that we all have asked before.

I think it is mainly lack of advertising, but after people do start looking, then that is when the pricing confusion sets in.

I still believe strongly that the extension would fare much better if Godaddy were in charge of it. I know others disagree, it is only my opinion.

i think demand media is doing ok in promoting .tv

end user people are beginning to buy .tv domains and have there own .tv site.

yes ( i know ) domainers dislike demand media and there .tv platform.

justin.tv is promoting well

things take time..

i agree on this pricing issue some for top notch names-its confusing.

I agree with Bulldog and Millers, DM have done nothing to promote or push the extension imo.
And their greed is there for all to see.

Example, pre May 1st Manchester.TV was $500 now $3000
Re.tv was $10k now $30k.
This is not Versign, this is DM hiking up the prices imo

They have also had ample opportunity to sort out the premium pricing on those ridiculous names for $100 like

wfnfozvsrtkjpr.tv

This is not a made up example name, this is an actual "premium" name available

And this is not an isolated icident , the premiums are full of crap names like this.

I cannot believe that wfnfozvsrtkjpr.tv is actually a premium listed for $100 at enom. :D
I hear that dropped names become premiums at enom.com, but my question is ... who registers name like this in the first place?
My guess is that it is somebody who is rich enough to use a $20 bill as a toilet paper.

Depending on which enom site it is more like 2 20's a 5, 4 1's and 95 cents.

Is it not obvious by looking at the name closely - it is a Polish PR company!

BTW: The alphabet game now has an "X"

1. I was not referring to price issue and names.

2. What I meant was demand media is promoting .tv with famous people having there .tv name. Guess what folks that's promoting tv weather you agree with me or not

3. That's why people are buying a .tv name and using there channel me platform. In domainers eyes this is dumb. In a common person eyes I see this as a form of marketing folks as well.

We have gone back and forth on this for a year now. I admit demand media and pricing issues suck. But having end users and famous people having there .tv name and promoting it what do you call this then?

I would love to see godaddy take over. I would love for them to offer free video blogs as well.

With Mr Rick Laytona practically kidnapping our eyes over to his new grand scheme, I could not help but notice his total disgust at the .mobi extension in his comments and he answers my question above, well sort of..

He says , I don't care how much .mobi has been selling for, I dont own any, I wont own any - basically what a ridiculous extension.

No mention made of .tv although I admit i only skimmed through the site until my eyes gave way and ended up going to the store and bought me some pirate eye patches...as my sunglasses didnt do the trick

Um, what "famous" people? Aside from what's his name and corehaim.tv, I have not seen any other famous people with websites on tv, or the me.tv platform.
