This is funny. If we, domainers who deals with .tv domains, cant say for sure how much is renewal fee for a certain .tv domain, how 'regular buyer' at sedo is supposed to do so? This will give (and probably already did) .tv sales at sites like sedo very bed reputation.

---------- Post added at 09:15 AM ---------- Previous post was at 09:07 AM ----------

(RussianSlaves.TV however was quite the popular dropped domain)

If you are talking about traffic that godaddy reported for that domain at tdnam, beware. Those number are not always accurate. That domain was parked for 2 years (after being simple adult mgp site) and doesnt have any backlinks (+ low overture). I doubt it receives typein traffic in amount godaddy reported.

Sad but true. And Sedo's "Important Notice: Renewal rates for .tv domains vary. Check with an approved .tv registrar to confirm rates," with its entirely unrelated and inexplicable link to a list of .tv registrars to "learn more" would be laughable too, if it weren't so dang annoying.

I would just like to confirm that Sweet.tv is 100% standard renewal and is currently registered at Dynadot.

Attorneys.tv

I agree with the poster regarding AHEAD.TV and incorrect data. I own ATTORNEYS.TV and this has cost me $$$$$. They list it as a premium renewal .TV at $5000....

Its a regular renewal fee, in fact I paid $21.99 for it @ name.com originally.

What the hell, I'll join the fun. Just reg, my first .tv. I think it's pretty decent.

Think somebody forgot to delete it from their Sedo account. Was checking domain tools and it said it was for sale, taking me to their Sedo sale page. But it was available as a hand reg.

My friends, VeriSign, all these Auctions, are just trying to make you sell your premiums at a cheap price... remember what happend when the bubble burst, not its not bursting, they just blew it up then just let some air out every now and then, you buy premiums sell em less, sell cheaper e.t.c... Untill the big guys gets there names in their portfolio (Just visit GOOGLE.TV , is that not enough "sign" for you, it is for me) now everybody is rushing to make at least a decent ROI ... Im staying with my names...

What? No, it was just what I thought it was. Somebody used to have it, probably let it expire (I guess big renew fee or something) and forgot to remove it from their account. Sent in info with whois showing the new owner, me, and Sedo said they would fix it.

Does anybody have any results from this auction?

Did any hit their reserve, and sell?
Do you know of any that did not hit their reserves?

I wasn't online at all today, and really wanted to be, so I have no idea what the heck happened. Any info at all would be apreciated.

Thx,
Vito

Great Sale Len!

Hopefully you are happy with the outcome, and had a decent ROI!

The first auction I've missed in a long time :(
I feel like I missed a damn good one.
There were a few .TV's in auction I would have loved to add to my portfolio...

Oh well, maybe next time.
Thx for the Sweet.tv update.

I would definitely be very pissed if some knucklehead sold me a .TV and did NOT disclose that it was a Legacy Premium with more than the standard reg fee renewal fee ($20 - $50). That is a Huge Factor that should be stated up front in the total investment.
Fully agree with you Vito as I just noticed the premium name nys.tv which will be in the next Sedo auction and the seller didn't mentioned the $375 renewal fee, but instead mentions that nys.tv has a "low annual renewal registration".

This is even worse and misleading as people might think it's non premium and personally I don't consider $375 as low.

Sedo should be held liable for registration fees if they choose to ignore a common sense requirement of making sellers list this information. $375 is not a low renewal fee even if one sees it as a bargain. Low renewal fees are the standard ones floating around most legitimate registrars & they do not come close to $xxx.

Great news for .tv, hope the strong trend continues and the sites sold will get developed. Just a noob question a little off topic, do you need an initial bid to send your domain to auction at sedo or is there a way around it? just kinda curious as 31 .tv's is a lot going on auction at the same time.

Ordinarily, yes, you need an initial bid, which becomes your reserve price. With the Sedo Premium/Great Domains Auctions, you either submit your domain(s) for inclusion or get invited by Sedo, and you and Sedo agree on a reserve price for your domain. I think that was the case with the majority of the 31 names recently auctioned.

People have also been known to time their bids on fellow members' names to coordinate with running auctions and/or try to drum up interest/enthusiasm. I think it's accurate to say results of that approach have been mixed at best.

Was fortunate to get Clock TV in this auction round.

I was higest bidder on one of these, but didn't hit reserve price.
So I made offer after auction, and we came to an agreement.
