Who would use...?

I am thinking of starting up a service like a sort of company.

It is going to offer security , domain , web design services.


Are security services would boast website security packages ranging from around 20$ - 500$. This would include basic and thorough checking and exploitation of the website and correcting those exploits.

Domain services would range from around 40$ - 100$ and include choosing domains.... ie hunting the right ones down , backordering them( and more)

Also web design services self explanatory.

Honestly, if i opened who would be interested in the services i have to offer.

It sounds a good idea, however I think most people here at NP are experienced enough to do alot of this for themselves and if not have enough contacts to do it much cheaper than for what you are talking about. But, I think there is a market in other industrial areas / businesses - basically anybody who doesn't have any links to the domain / web industry.

If I were you I would carry out some Market research on businesses in a set catchment area (say 50mile radius of where you are now) and see if they would be interested. Also why not join some forums that are totally unrelated, for example 'manufacturing' and ask the same question there. I doubt you will be able to start out at the prices you are talking about but you might get there with time. I can see this taking alot of work to build up, but I can see no reason why it shouldn't work.

I would say, that you should offer the services to business not involved in the internet. For this you should be charging high price as demand will most likely be inelastic. You see, most businesses not involved in the internet wouldn't have a clue, and therefore would be quite happy for you to securly look after the company website for several $hundred per year.

The main idea of the site is that of a security one. We will ethically hack your site and find exploits weaknesses. We then will give you details of these and how to fix them for a fixed amount.

i haven't really heard of such a security service, so maybe it might be something quite exclusive. if your website is reliable and established well, you might be on your way to earning some money. but i don't think you can be expecting any profit for a couple of months.

Ya, I think it is a pretty good idea, but I don't think too many people would be interested in you just pointing out flaws. The real money would be in fixing those errors and flaws. Good luck!
