After having a measure of success selling hand-reg. names, especially GEO names, I wonder if some members would be interested in a service where they submit their geo names so they can be promoted to end users.

I am not talking about premium or high value names, but names you would be willing to sell between $200-$900 (and probably more). We would, of course, be selective about which names we accept and which names we decide not to promote, all based on quality.

Let's say you own MiamiPhotobooths.com and you would like to sell it. You submit it to us, we promote it and find a buyer. The name sells for $300 and you are paid your money minus a broker's fee, which might be 25%. If the name doesn't sell within 30 days, you pay nothing.

The service is in progress and we will launch very soon.

I suppose you're talking about US geo names.
I don't own any but if such a service existed it could give me reason to acquire some ;)

also,
30% might sound high to some but I suppose you're going to actively look for buyers. If so, then 30% sounds quite fair.

just my opinion

Yes, I am referring to US geo names.

who talks/negotiates and finalizes with buyer through your site? me or you?

30% is pretty steep, especially for low-mid $xxx sales.

If you can bring down the commission (10%-15%?), and try to push for $xxx-$x,xxx, I'd be interested.

To facilitate the process, you could give us or we can give you a suggested minimum price and we will use that as the lowest amount for which it must sell.

Thanks for your comment. I understand your concern, but have in mind we will be doing all the work to search for a buyer and you pay nothing unless it sells.

I like the idea...25%-30% commission is just fair bearing in mind the quantity (and hopefully quality) of the work involved.

I would try such a service if you decide to launch it.

I would be willing to pay a 20% commission on a number of City Real Estate .COM domains but my target selling price is NOT low $XXX. The cities in question are 500k+ in population but the challenge is they are targeted toward Spanish-speaking markets such as San Antonio, Medellin, Mexico City, San Juan (PR), etc.

Definitely. This is a great service. 30% is fair because you're doing all the work.

You rock @infosec3. The king of geo domains is up with a new idea.

Keep us posted when you launch this service and how it goes.

Best,

Yes I would use it but 30% seems to be a bit steep.

Yes, geo domains take a lot of work to sell so the commission seems fair

30% is somewhat high but I would definitely like to try it and see how it goes.
