Would you have bid more for it?

Placed a max bid of $40 for kem dot biz on GD auctions. Was outbid and wondered if i should have bid more. I had no plans for the name and bid only because i don't have a ccc biz. What do you think? Was it worth more?

Yes it was probably worth more.

Average Monthly Search Stats - [kem]
Average Monthly Searches: 33,875
Average Cost Per Click: $0.95 USD
Average Ad Competition: high

OK. Not many of those searches would go to the .biz without some heavy SEO. I would probably have bid up to approx $120, if I was wanting this domain. However, you would have maximum benefit if you had a plan for this domain. It might be a difficult resell however.

Many thanks for your input. It would have been purely for resell. I was hesitant as i think i read in a NP thread a while ago that the value of a 3 letter biz is declining.

Personally, I would say you did well staying at $40. Say the current winner maybe won at $45... that's $5 more than your bid. But if you wanted to be the winner, it certainly wouldn't have ended there... and the price would have ended higher. You might have had to fight off the current winner (was he using a proxy bid?), and the price becomes unrealistically high afterward.

And since your plans were for resale, would it have been wise to pay a higher price? .biz does sell, but it's not hot property.

Don't get me wrong, KEM is a nice keyword, but the most you were willing to pay at the time was $40 (knowing it is for resale). And I think, sticking to your guns (as you did) is what counts-not just securing a name at price higher which you are not really truly comfortable with.

I think you were fine giving it up. I deal in alternate extensions including .BIZ, but they do have a limited ceiling unlike .COM

I personally don't generally touch .biz except for really good domains. The only one I've had since selling Blog.biz was a 2-word one we're about to drop where we've sold the .info and .org each for mid $xxx+. No bite on the .biz. So I can't blame you for giving it up.

I think that it will be also great to park your domain and get good sum of money for this.
