Would it be ok/good idea to email website/business owners that you think might be interested in a domain you have to sell?

Anyone done this and had success with it?

Just make sure the name doesn't infringe on a trademark or you could lose it to the same company you're trying to sell it to.

YES - of course

Yes, it can be a good sales technique. However, there should be an obvious connection between the domain and the company you're emailing.

We've discussed the topic before a couple times. Search NamePros for sample sales letters.

Thnx RJ, I will, shoulda thought of searching!

The domain is www.usaflights.us so I'll have to filter out potential people.

Thnx

I'd have to agree with -RJ- on this one, they will not most likely buy it if it has nothing to do with their company for example. But then it its an infringement of some sort that might not be too good news for you.

I'm not sure it is spam.

Sure, if you think the domain is relevant, why not?

Righto, not if it's TARGETED and PERSONALIZED to RELEVANT End users, IMHO ... and not as part of any mass/blanket mailing system. Do some thorough research beforehand, make some phone calls and specific inquiries ... get the initial E-mail's to the right folks (and properly addressed with full names, etc. as well)!

Good Luck with the marketings. :talk:

Just make sure you don't email them more than twice. Once the initial contact then a follow up. Then if you have no responce assume they are not interested.
