I believe that President Biden was right when he said that Russia is going to Invade Ukraine.

Any intelligent person is going to come to the same conclusion knowing that Russia has already decided to pay any price imposed on it by the West through sanctions.

Short of full military confrontation by the West there is nothing that can make Russia to change its mind as they see this as a golden opportunity to resurrect the once powerful superpower that was equal to the USA.

But Russia’s ambitions are not going to stop with taking over Ukraine since it already has made plans to increase its sphere of influence to Asia, Middle East, and South America and perhaps the whole World knowing that the West is most likely not going to do anything beyond just imposing sanctions which ultimately will hurt the West itself by effecting the Global economy in an adverse way the longer that they go on.

I personally don’t like any of the old ideologies, philosophies, and doctrines of Capitalism, Communism, Socialism, Religious Fundamentalism and all the other “ism” that are derived from the bad human characteristics of Greed, Lust, Hate, Cruelty, Jealousy, Prejudice, and lack of Empathy and that have been infringing on our rights in one way or another throughout the history because they can only exist through supporting inequality, oppression, suppression, torture, killing, and War.

When it comes to saving the World the last thing that I want to see is the further expansion of these old systems that have all already proven to be a failure in dealing with the existential problems that are currently facing Humanity and the Environment.

We don’t want all these political, Religious, and Racial parties and groups to resurrect their past, we want something new that can propel the World into the next Era that is based on the Universal Principles and Values that have been derived through Logic and Compassion and not through Force and Violence.

By “We” I mean all the Intelligent, Righteous, and Peace loving people of the World.

IMO

For the record:

Russia votes in favour of resolution condemning its actions in Ukraine

I think Putin is looking for an exit from the war , but yet still be able to declare victory . Xi Jinping told Putin , No Nukes , that pretty much took anything Putin had left to continue the war IMO , I think it will be done and over very soon , and history will read that Ukraine defeated Russia in this war , because they have beaten Russia

If no agreement is reached, it will become a 'Frozen War', similar but different from the 'Winter War' when Russia invaded Finland in 1939-40. Russian losses were heavy on a country 40X smaller. Hitler showed sympathy for Russia and even assisted Stalin with military advisors and elite forces, while threatening to attack Sweden and Norway if Allied forces intervened to protect Finland from the advancing Red Army. Nazi propagada actually accused Finland of invading Russia! :xf.rolleyes:

After seeing Stalin's weaknesses, Hitler launched an invasion of Russia in the summer 1941, but the Nazi war machine was stopped in its tracks by the brutal winter and both Germany and Russia suffered huge losses on the eastern front. This history lesson is reminiscent of Putin's attack on Ukraine as it fights valiantly to defends its homeland against the aggressor, albeit with support from the West this time.

If however, after the midterm election tomorrow and Republicans hold Congress, US funds and arms will likely dry up, while other Western countries continue to support Ukraine until BOTH sides can come to some terms of agreement or ceasefire. But as we all know treaties can and are often broken. If history repeats itself, and I pray it does not, the war may manifest itself after Russia resupplies during the coming summer, and we may again see another return to fighting.

IMO :beaver:

This comes as no surprise...

Kremlin-connected entrepreneur Yevgeny Prigozhin admitted Monday that he had interfered in U.S. elections and would continue to do so — confirming for the first time the accusations that he has rejected for years.

“Gentlemen, we have interfered, are interfering and will interfere. Carefully, precisely, surgically and in our own way, as we know how to do,” Prigozhin boasted in remarks posted on social media.

In 2018, Prigozhin and a dozen other Russian nationals and three Russian companies were charged in the U.S. with operating a covert social media campaign aimed at fomenting discord and dividing American public opinion ahead of the 2016 presidential election won by Republican Donald Trump.

Putin pal and war criminal Prigozhin is bragging about interfering in US elections. What is the response of the Biden admin? Or are they afraid a strong answer might interrupt Jake Sullivan's "lines of communication" with the Kremlin?

Freedom comes not without cost. Ukraine has stood strong. Your warriors have fought with heart and soul ...their heroism shall be rewarded, of this, I have no doubt.

So now that a Russian missile has crossed into Poland and killed 2 people, I'm afraid a sequence of events will begin. Emergency meetings are being called/held now. NATO may have no choice but to move forces.

UPDATE: 12+ hours later, the possibility it is/was a defensive missile fired by a Ukrainian battery is being investigated. Remnants of the projectile are being examined to make a final determination.

Vladimir Putin Stashes Billions In Central Africa In Preparation To Flee Moscow In Case Of Emergency 'Evacuation'

Russian President Vladimir Putin has stashed billions in the Central African Republic in preparation for an "evacuation" in the case of an "emergency situation" in Moscow due to overwhelming disapproval of the war in Ukraine, RadarOnline.com has learned.

We must understand that everything is interconnected. The 'powers that be' are involved in a global chess game, and each piece plays a part. One must consider all the angles, or else. ☮️

The incident in Poland reminds me of the Cold War... when JFK gave a speech before the United Nations he said, “Every man, woman and child lives under a nuclear sword of Damocles, hanging by the slenderest of threads, capable of being cut at any moment by accident or miscalculation or by madness...” , shortly thereafter, the Cuban Missile Crisis.

This recent barrage of missiles fired into Ukraine by Russian aggression, leading to a stray missile landing in Poland killing two again has me pondering, "how close are we to a nuclear exchange today?"

Can we not have ☮️?

However, in light of what's happening on the ground in Ukraine, there has to be a peaceful solution, otherwise inevitably there will be escalation and then there's no turning back. The West needs to understand their culpability in trigerring Putin and his army to commit these egregious war crimes, the fighting must stop and Ukraine's country restored. No one wins in a stalemate.

On another note, Baltic states have been put on high alert after rogue missile hit Poland. Canadian commander says NATO forces in Latvia would defend against Russian forces only 200km away...

Finland too, is prepared for a Russian invasion, with a conscription army strength of 285,000 men...bunkers ready for every citizen including Santa's Village. Bomb shelters are mandated by law - built under every apartment block since the 1940s...

Fossil Fuels Kill

Ukrainian human rights lawyer Oleksandra Matviichuk addressed an audience at COP27 from Kyiv...

“As a Ukrainian, I can see how fossil fuels have powered Russia’s war machine for too long,” she said. "Russia has never been punished for its crime in places like Chechnya or Georgia because the world depends on its oil and gas."

Ukraine’s pavilion at the UN climate conference in Egypt is built of austere, dark gray walls. It feels like a bomb shelter, a bit out of place among all the brightly colored structures erected by other countries that are showcasing climate solutions and celebrating natural beauty. The contrast is intentional. The Ukrainians with a clear mission: to highlight the damage caused by Russia’s aggressive war – a war that is funded mostly by oil and gas revenues.

"Ukraine has found many new allies among climate activists at the conference by making a clear link between fossil fuels and the invasion. Protests against the war and other conflicts have become part of the daily demonstrations at COP, where 'fossil fuels kill' is one of activists’ key messages."

NATO's secretary-general said the blast was likely caused by a Ukrainian air defense missile that went astray, but that Russia was ultimately responsible because it started the war.

Poland has been conducting its own investigation into what happened. The investigation is expected to conclude that Ukraine fired the missile.

"Poland and the Baltics have been warning for some time that there is a real risk of something happening that draws the West into a wider conflict," said one European diplomat. "What happened on Tuesday makes it clear that this war is not managed, it is not controlled."
