I believe that President Biden was right when he said that Russia is going to Invade Ukraine.

Any intelligent person is going to come to the same conclusion knowing that Russia has already decided to pay any price imposed on it by the West through sanctions.

Short of full military confrontation by the West there is nothing that can make Russia to change its mind as they see this as a golden opportunity to resurrect the once powerful superpower that was equal to the USA.

But Russia’s ambitions are not going to stop with taking over Ukraine since it already has made plans to increase its sphere of influence to Asia, Middle East, and South America and perhaps the whole World knowing that the West is most likely not going to do anything beyond just imposing sanctions which ultimately will hurt the West itself by effecting the Global economy in an adverse way the longer that they go on.

I personally don’t like any of the old ideologies, philosophies, and doctrines of Capitalism, Communism, Socialism, Religious Fundamentalism and all the other “ism” that are derived from the bad human characteristics of Greed, Lust, Hate, Cruelty, Jealousy, Prejudice, and lack of Empathy and that have been infringing on our rights in one way or another throughout the history because they can only exist through supporting inequality, oppression, suppression, torture, killing, and War.

When it comes to saving the World the last thing that I want to see is the further expansion of these old systems that have all already proven to be a failure in dealing with the existential problems that are currently facing Humanity and the Environment.

We don’t want all these political, Religious, and Racial parties and groups to resurrect their past, we want something new that can propel the World into the next Era that is based on the Universal Principles and Values that have been derived through Logic and Compassion and not through Force and Violence.

By “We” I mean all the Intelligent, Righteous, and Peace loving people of the World.

If a crazy idiot starts a nuclear war, you can bet it won't matter who shoots first. The nuke exchange will be enough to put this planet under a long winter... no matter who has the fastest missile.

Putin has already taken the first shot IMO. Ukraine has been remarkably resilient, reinforcements and supplies from the West will help Ukraine better defend itself, but if Bucha was any indication how Mariupol's last stand will unfold... I daresay, how Putin delivers his final blow will be indicative to how he plans to exit. IMO

But again, Putler is more coward than crazy, and he prefers to bomb innocent civilians and nearly unarmed countries.

And of course, a country that's not into a defense alliance like NATO.

Perhaps, but will the Donbas be enough to satiate Putin and his army's new found bloodlust? Will Putin's hired murderers and mercenaries go back home once they're done killing, raping and looting? Will the West become immune to attrocities happing in real time? Will the West put troops on the ground and/or provide air support? What would trigger such an escalation? Is Mariupol enough of a sacrifice to appease the beast? ...and MOST importantly, (how) will the civilian populations under seige survive and where will they go?

Unless some of Russia's allies intervene to reach an agreement for providing safe passage for the people trapped in the Mariupol steel factory this could become a day of humanitarian reckoning for the whole World as Mariupol is completely taken over by the Russian forces in the next couple of days.

I am kind of surprised by the lack of attention and concern here to this catastrophe in the making that is going to affect around 3000 people.

I think Sir Winston Churchill once explained it quite well. I don't think the beast will be appeased until someone stops it. That's why the best thing the West can do is to help and arm Ukraine, to help them fight the beast, to survive and stop the slaughter. But if the situation was reversed and it was the Russian soldiers and civilians who were taking refuge in the Mariupol steel plant I would still be as much concerned about their Human Rights being preserved and respected as I am now for the Ukrainians who are trapped in there.

Perhaps against all odds I am hoping that a catastrophe could be avoided tomorrow and the situation in the Mariupol steel plant could be settled in a humane way.

President Putin orders his defense minister not to storm the Mariupol steel plant where about 3000 Ukrainian soldiers and civilians have taken refuge.

I am very happy that a major Human Catastrophe has been avoided.

Although the steel plant is going to be under complete blockade, but as long as the people inside are provided with food and water they can effectively be considered to be out of the War and will have no effect on the rest of the operations.

I am glad that Logic and Compassion won at the end, because that's a win for the whole Humanity.

That's what Putin wants you to feel. If you felt part of a team united toward saving Ukraine, the chain becomes stronger. Unfortunately, humans are often conflicted by their own self-interest (as are their nations).

Putin ordered his army to tighten their grip around Mariupol so that not even a fly could get out. He is not going to bomb nuke the steel plant, rather he will wait and starve the resistance out.

Perhaps not using a tactical nuke or chemical/biological weapon is logical, but starving them out is not exactly compassionate.

Fortunately, for now, the West still has an advantage on training and weaponry. The two primary enemies to freedom on the planet (Russia/China) have been quickly gaining on those that cherish self determination.

Should any war pig launch any nuke (other than a battlefield tactical) against another world power, it will likely end life as we know it due to the nuclear winter that will follow. There are areas where humans will survive and over generations the planet will likely, although slowly, be repopulated.

The clowns that have the ability to push the buttons will rule over a very different world filled with death and mutations from all forms of life. They will still be able to count their money (rubles, dollars, yen, euros) but it will have little value unless it can be burned for heat. No more super yachts, G6 junkets, beautiful men/women or any luxuries other than those they have hoarded in their deep bunkers.

One problem, Putin doesn’t care what weaponry any country has , Putin is on the offensive now , Putin knows no matter what happens, his days are numbered now . Putin is and has been unhinged for a while now , the US , UK or whom ever it may be , can test to see just how unhinged Putin is , that could be the end of the world too IMO .

I think all depends on how Putin is handled from here on out , he is completely backed into a wall right now , he knows how this ends for him , Death … I think if he is pressed much more , he will do one of two things , launch his Nuclear wrath , or kill himself

I’ve not looked too much into it, but nuclear war is nuclear war, doesn’t matter if you drop 1 or 10 at once.

All know is (god forbid) if it ever came to that Russia would be getting it from all directions, US/France and UK and Russian equipment/training etc is nothing to the big 4 of NATO (US/UK/France/Germany), Ukraine as shown us this.

Russia keep reminding the world that they would use nukes if they faced an ‘existential threat’, that says to me, they know they would be flattened if it came to conventional war, but keep holding the mutual self-destruction card, as it’s the only thing they have really to make NATO think twice flattening Moscow now for what they've done.
