I believe that President Biden was right when he said that Russia is going to Invade Ukraine.

Any intelligent person is going to come to the same conclusion knowing that Russia has already decided to pay any price imposed on it by the West through sanctions.

Short of full military confrontation by the West there is nothing that can make Russia to change its mind as they see this as a golden opportunity to resurrect the once powerful superpower that was equal to the USA.

But Russia’s ambitions are not going to stop with taking over Ukraine since it already has made plans to increase its sphere of influence to Asia, Middle East, and South America and perhaps the whole World knowing that the West is most likely not going to do anything beyond just imposing sanctions which ultimately will hurt the West itself by effecting the Global economy in an adverse way the longer that they go on.

I personally don’t like any of the old ideologies, philosophies, and doctrines of Capitalism, Communism, Socialism, Religious Fundamentalism and all the other “ism” that are derived from the bad human characteristics of Greed, Lust, Hate, Cruelty, Jealousy, Prejudice, and lack of Empathy and that have been infringing on our rights in one way or another throughout the history because they can only exist through supporting inequality, oppression, suppression, torture, killing, and War.

When it comes to saving the World the last thing that I want to see is the further expansion of these old systems that have all already proven to be a failure in dealing with the existential problems that are currently facing Humanity and the Environment.

We don’t want all these political, Religious, and Racial parties and groups to resurrect their past, we want something new that can propel the World into the next Era that is based on the Universal Principles and Values that have been derived through Logic and Compassion and not through Force and Violence.

By “We” I mean all the Intelligent, Righteous, and Peace loving people of the World.

Ukrainian forces in Mariupol defy Russia's order to surrender by this morning and have said that they are going to fight to the end.

Another Russian militarily transport plane is reported to have been brought down near Odessa. Russia apparently has lost another top general.

The situation in Ukraine is getting closer to crossing the red line by the minute.

What a poor excuse man... like if somebody is attacking Germany right now, or like if Germany is not a NATO member. And all this, while buying Putin's oild and gas, and daily funding with millions of euros Putin's war machine and massacre in Ukraine.

Germany to Ukraine: Sorry, no tanks

https://www.politico.eu/article/germany-says-it-cant-send-tanks-from-army-stocks-to-ukraine/

BERLIN — Germany told Ukraine on Friday: Tanks, but no tanks.

Berlin said that it can’t send Marder tanks from its army stocks to Ukraine because it needs them for its own defense, raising questions over Germany’s broader capability to deliver heavy weaponry to Kyiv in its war against Russia.

“After an examination we have found that it simply does not work” because Germany would not be able to fulfill its national defense obligations as well as its obligations in the NATO military alliance if it were to give away tanks from its active military force, the spokesperson said. “We also have a constitutionally enshrined task, namely national defense.”

Urgent:

Looks like that Russia is in a hurry to finish taking over Mariupol in the next couple of days so that it can get on with the operations in the Donbas region.

I believe that this puts the around 3000 Ukrainian fighters that are still holding out in Mariupol at grave danger.

There is not much chance for anyone to interfere militarily in this battle on behalf of the Ukrainians so it's up to the International community to voice their concerns against chemical weapons being used in Mariupol.

The brave 3000, reminds me of this...

Well we live in the 21 century now and I was hoping that we wouldn't have to see civilians or even soldiers being massacred in cold blood anymore.

Fighting in a fair battle is one thing, but there is no honour in using chemical weapons in a War.

That is why the Putin Horror Show is so last century. It was a disaster from the start (for both sides), and while Ukraine army has fought phenominally, they simply do not have the firepower to repel the attackers.

Fighting in a fair battle is one thing, but there is no honour in using chemical weapons in a War.
It was not a fair fight to start ie. hypersonic missiles, vacuum bombs, tanks and jets...

The endless horrific lengths Putin's generals have gone to (terrorism, human shields, chemical weapons etc.) marks a whole new era in warfare IMO. This is just the beginning, be thankful you're an oldtimer (like moi). :xf.wink:

That's why that it's logical to assume that someday Russia will dominate the whole World because they seem to have the resolve and the ruthlessness to use whatever means (Nuclear / Chemical / Biological) to win over all the other Countries in the World.

We may not be there to see it, but it makes me feel bad for the future of Humanity and our Home Planet anyways.

For some reason I was expecting the Russians to choose the way of Logic and Compassion over ruthlessness and War, but I guess they are human like everyone else after all.

I believe your assumption is wrong. Merely having tools and the willingness to commit attrocities does not predispose a nation to world domination. It was David's resolve that shocked Goliath, I saw the bravery in that female tank operator and it was contagious...

No Submission, No Retreat, No Surrender...NO FEAR!!

While Putin may take Mariupol and parts of Donbass, reinforcements and equipment will arrive and Ukraine will not be lost. The West will continue to support holding the line, and like Europe and Japan during WW2, Ukraine can and will be rebuilt. We have witnessed bravery and resolve, but the cost to each life displaced, and to humanity collectively, is enormous IMO.

It's easy for you to say that, but to be honest I think the European leaders are scared of Russia otherwise Ukraine wouldn't be in this situation in the first place.

Been out of the forum for a while. Jurgen sent the link to this thread. Currently in Lviv. Experiencing another air raid this morning. Unfortunately, with civilian causalities.

If anyone need any assistance in Ukraine, please reach out via PM or better via the website contacts.

I was referring to the tank operator, but in order to truly fathom the situation, one must have experienced Russia and KGB aggression. BTW, I've lived in war zones, been across Russia, lived in Europe and have walked the walk... so yeah, it is easy for me to say having been there, done that.

If I were Ukrainian, I would do whatever necessary to protect my national identity for my children's children's children.

Bravery alone is not enough when facing a much more powerful adversary like Russia.

If you were Ukrainian you would be asking the West the same question that is on the mind of everyone who is fighting the Russians right now which is:

You have the power to save us so why are you allowing the Russians to continue killing our children.
