I believe that President Biden was right when he said that Russia is going to Invade Ukraine.

Any intelligent person is going to come to the same conclusion knowing that Russia has already decided to pay any price imposed on it by the West through sanctions.

Short of full military confrontation by the West there is nothing that can make Russia to change its mind as they see this as a golden opportunity to resurrect the once powerful superpower that was equal to the USA.

But Russia’s ambitions are not going to stop with taking over Ukraine since it already has made plans to increase its sphere of influence to Asia, Middle East, and South America and perhaps the whole World knowing that the West is most likely not going to do anything beyond just imposing sanctions which ultimately will hurt the West itself by effecting the Global economy in an adverse way the longer that they go on.

I personally don’t like any of the old ideologies, philosophies, and doctrines of Capitalism, Communism, Socialism, Religious Fundamentalism and all the other “ism” that are derived from the bad human characteristics of Greed, Lust, Hate, Cruelty, Jealousy, Prejudice, and lack of Empathy and that have been infringing on our rights in one way or another throughout the history because they can only exist through supporting inequality, oppression, suppression, torture, killing, and War.

When it comes to saving the World the last thing that I want to see is the further expansion of these old systems that have all already proven to be a failure in dealing with the existential problems that are currently facing Humanity and the Environment.

We don’t want all these political, Religious, and Racial parties and groups to resurrect their past, we want something new that can propel the World into the next Era that is based on the Universal Principles and Values that have been derived through Logic and Compassion and not through Force and Violence.

By “We” I mean all the Intelligent, Righteous, and Peace loving people of the World.

IMO

To realize the scale of the massacre and war crimes by Putin in Ukraine:

Without looking for data, trust me this is probably 1000% false, in terms of what was dropped on Syria, perhaps true abut Ukraine. Syria has suffered like no other country has this past decade, it was bombed by literally everybody, from Terrorists to armies, to everybody else.

Russia basically has hardly any T14 tanks. The production has been behind schedule for years.
Russia puts up big talk, then in reality brings a bunch of dated junk to the fight.

Even then no one cares about tanks. The US has thousands of Abrams tanks, which are top of the line.
Basically all that matters in modern warfare are air and naval supremacy.

Ground troops are a last resort.

I doubt you will find any career warriors who agree with this. The USA relied on the Kurds, other local military and militia to fight in the Levant. You can't take or control land, government without troops.

You can break a military or Government but if you want to control it, you are going to fight a guerrilla war.

While the Army recovers from decades of fighting guerrilla forces in the Middle East, leaders are setting their eyes on the wars of tomorrow. And despite rapid advances in cyberweapons, drones and artificial intelligence, they're stressing the next war will still feature bloody, close quarters combat
"All this technology is awesome, but it's going to come down to city fighting chucking grenades, and being able to do that over and over," Lt. Gen. Ted Martin told Military.com in an interview Thursday.

I assume that the 100 missiles are the ones dropped by Putin's troops.
The scale of Putin's aggression in Ukraine clearly surpasses the one he provoked in Syria. And also the losses of his troops.
Anyway, Putin has provoked mass civilian killings from Syria to Chechnya to Ukraine now. He is a mass terrorist and a mass murderer on the highest scale.

Sure, they play a role. Let me know how effective ground troops are when an A10 gunship shows up.

Again, even though I did not support the 2nd Iraq War, you can see there what happened when a superior trained and equipped force meets a much larger force with inferior weapons and training. The ground troops were largely able to advance without much resistance because of air and naval supremacy.

At some point you need ground troops, but Russia is showing how ineffective they can be as well. I doubt their occupation would go much better.

The RF has launched a new phase of terror against Mariupol. Residents who survived Russian bombing and artillery shelling are now being forcibly deported to Russia.

🇷🇺 army has forcibly deported about 6000 Mariupol residents to Russian filtration camps.cutt.ly/GSXU9oL

Statement by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine on the forced deportation of residents of Mariupol by Russia

https://mfa.gov.ua/en/news/statemen...-forced-deportation-residents-mariupol-russia

"The Russian Federation has launched a new phase of terror against the city of Mariupol. Residents who survived Russian bombing and artillery shelling are now being forcibly deported to Russia.
15,000 residents of the Left Bank district of Mariupol are in grave danger. The Russian occupiers are forcing them to move to Russia. The invaders confiscate people's passports and other identity documents.

According to the information available, the Russian army has forcibly deported about 6,000 Mariupol residents to Russian filtration camps in order to use them as hostages and put more political pressure on Ukraine.
At the same time, the Russian armed forces are firing on evacuation columns trying to leave Mariupol for the territory of Ukraine free from Russian occupation. Russian troops continue to hold in detention a humanitarian convoy of buses that arrived a few days ago from Zaporizhia to take people from Mariupol.

Such actions by Russia are a gross violation of the laws and customs of war, the norms of international humanitarian law, in particular the Geneva Conventions of 1949 and Additional Protocol I to the Geneva Conventions.

We call on the world leaders gathered in Brussels today for the NATO, Group of Seven and EU summits to take urgent action to save the lives of the residents of Mariupol and other Ukrainian cities who have found themselves in an inhumane siege by the Russian army.

The international community must impose new tough sanctions on Russia to stop its deadly military machine, as well as cut off all business ties with Russian companies to stop funding Russia's war against Ukraine."
Again, this is an undeniable war crime. As you said, this is directly outlined in the Geneva Conventions.

This is one of many undeniable war crimes, so far.

See Aleppo. See Grozny. See Mariupol.

Russia has a history of bombing cities to the ground, and directly targeting civilians.

They pulled the "humanitarian corridor" BS on those cities, and many others as well. They promise someone safe passage, then just attack and murder them.

Hi, I would like continue share what I thought personally ... I think it may be valueable for people who get more perspective from outside western.

Ukraine: I sympathize with the Ukrainian people, but I oppose the Ukrainian government, this is a country with a "unrealistic dream" that tried hard to join NATO after the disintegration of the Soviet Union but never made substantial progress, the people been cheat for years, a country between NATO and Russia, really needs great political wisdom to find a road of development suitable for itself. (instead begging for join NATO)From a political point of view, the government after the coup in 2014 is really fatuous , either stupid (stupid enough to be used as cannon fodder by some free and democratic rhetoric of NATO and the United States), or bad (some selfish senior officials have long become puppets of the West and don't care about the security interests of the Ukrainian people). From the result, it is to turn a regional power with such rich natural resources and such a strong industrial foundation into a begging country and a battlefield! It has become a laboratory for biological and chemical weapons, the poorest country in Europe, and A "no - paied - agent" of NATO to restrict Russia....(many people think Zelensky is a hero, the fact is, he is not a hero, due to his foolish, he bring his country and people into disaster..)

Russia: Russia is a country with vast territory and the history of calvary --- Anyone read 《The Road to Calvary》?---. The Soviet Union was once a pole of the world, but because of its history and culture, the Soviet Union finally became the magnate regime with extreamly corruption, it lost the cold war internally plus the designed action from US, After the disintegration of the Soviet Union, Russia try to become part of west, but failed, no one want accept them(the reason is complicated, u can think.......), the Russians had to reconstruct the whole country and unite the people by returning to the glory of the Empire. I feel that Russia is like a wounded and trapped bear. It may be more in the interests of Europe or the United States to encircle Russia and even further dismember Russia, but from the perspective of Russians, they hope to “Great Again” with dignity(US want great again, Russian also want this...why not). . In World War II, the Soviet Red Army actually liberated Europe from German Nazis, but since the cold war, the Soviet Union has been described as a devil by the West which is un-fair in general. I have to say that Russia has its own problems, which are either geographical or cultural. I have read a lot of Russian literature and listened to Russian music. I feel that Russia seems to have two layers, one is very grand and solemn, and the other is kind of backward, I also traveled to Russia, it really a big and mysterious country, not easy to engage . I am not sure Putin can lead this country to where, but I think we need respect Russia, culture and histroy and security and its development concern....the earth cannot just ignor or isolate Russia, sanction and isolation is not peaceful direction...

Europe: in history, there has been no real unification in Europe. I think this is the European's own political and cultural choice - in fact, this is also an ideal that ancient China once pursued (small country and few people) - and from the perspective outside Europe, to be honest, an un-united Eurpoe is a reassuring Europe. Europeans realized this, so the EU and the euro been created, However, being unable to be independent politically and having to obey the United States hurts Europe's own interests. With the baton of the United States, Europe has gained more security dependence on the United States. Europe yearning for political independence is becoming more and more impossible. Europe has only received more refugees (refugees from Africa, the Middle East and Eastern Europe), more expensive oil and gas, more expensive military budgets The devalued euro and an angry Russia. Of course, there is also a complaining Zelensky, begging everywhere and perhaps regretting...if I am Eurpean, I would support Marno's idea to creat a more indenpendal military power for Europe instead fully rely on US.

USA: waging wars everywhere, even for the Ukrainian crisis, the U.S. government also play a role, they hiding behind and fanning the flames, but finally USA is the winner, the military industry will gain huge benefits, the euro will become more devalued and more dependent on the US dollar, and Europe will listen to the United States with trepidation to seek protection, Ukraine has long been abandoned (maybe it is not so completely abandoned. After all, they are white and Christian. It needs beautiful words on the surface.) I would say that if you are an American, perhaps such hypocritical and selfish Biden is far better than the straightforward, innocent and charming trump. Biden has a better plan, though not aboveboard. But if you are European, I suggest you think about European independence! Think about how your politicians betrayed Europe. The United States did not stop the war after World War II, but now it stands on the moral commanding height. I think it's really shameless , I really think it's ridiculous that the United States, the world's largest military group, accuses the war.. Don't you think?

China: China's expectation is quite simple, we have strateigc relationship with Russia, we understand their cocerns but we don't support their military action as we also have close relationship with Ukraine...we expect them can sitdown and talk...and find a way make both side satisfied and turn back to peace...US/western want push China to sanction Russia, it is impossible, Sanction are incompatible with our political philosophy and not align with our own interest...meanwhile, we feel US/Western is too double standard ...consider how many war US initiated, and how many civilians been killed by US ....I never heard US been sanctioned ...

Ukraine being a former soviet state, had a lot of corruption 10 to 15 years ago as still was an extension of Russia.

Due to the ambition of joining the EU and NATO and them having to pass many guidelines to be members of these organisations, corruption/fixed elections etc are no longer part of Ukraine and many people in Ukraine now sharing western ideologies over soviet. Why do you think Putin invaded? A democratic/westernised Ukraine is a threat to Russia, the fear is Russians will see freedom Ukrainians have and will want the same, Ukraine is a free and independent nation and one of the key reasons why Putin invaded is because “Ukraine are no longer teaching Russian in schools” that is their choice, it's nothing to do with Russia, yet Russia believe it is.

Also you basically criticised every part of earth apart from China. Let’s have it right, China are under a dictatorship, with dogs having more rights than human-beings and that’s saying a lot due to China’s treatment of dogs over the years too. Last 2 years alone, China is accused of genocide against Muslims, took over Hong Kong and are a nation directly responsable for the global pandemic of Covid19, whether or not this was created in a lab doesn’t matter, China could have contained the spreading of covid around the world, but due to secrecy and cover-ups they never, also is Peng Shuai free to leave China?

So let’s not paint a picture that China are a force of good for the world, whilst I don’t believe they are threat to the human race like Russia and want to conquer parts of the globe like Russia do from a military pov and would use nuclear weapons carelessly, China and Russia are 2 peas in a pod in terms ideologies and control of its people and lack of freedoms.

For all your dissing of Europe and America, freedoms in these parts of the world are like no other and most luxuries and advancements of the human race (medicine/tech etc) are from these parts of the world, a whole world sharing the principles and ideologies of the People’s Republic of China and Russia would be a grim/dystopian place with lack of human freedoms/rights and human advancements.

Iraq military was primarily unmotivated conscripts. When we became the occupiers, they became motivated and were assisted by Iran and Russia.

20 years of war in IQ and AF and we never controlled anything for more than a few years. What did we accomplish? What did we win?

The Soviet Union broke up without a plan. The leadership betrayed the people, corruption was rampant and they went from a two class communist society to dictatorship almost overnight.

Russia has a middle class but they do not have freedom. They are at the mercy of a man stuck in the cold war and his corrupt friends.

This war has nothing to do with nazis or America. Putin wants Ukraine as a buffer against the west.

Oldtimer,

I've done what you're doing now. Registered domains with topical names relating to my main business; built websites on them (not just 301 redirects!) to make a point; casually drop the URL in at the end of a post in an online forum.

In fact, in a sense, that's how I got into domaining, because I figured that if I could make that work for my main business, I could make it work for any business. (We'll see. :xf.smile: )

But the thing is, I was either using these websites to make a point, or they were up for sale. Not both at the same time.

When you tell us about your good intentions, but I see the same domain is on sale on GoDaddy for 26,878 euros, well... it looks as though your good intentions are for sale, for 26,878 euros.

If you feel so strongly about the cause, why not just take the domain off the market for the duration, and sell it some time in the future? Just a suggestion.
I thought we were finished with the subject of domain names once I indicated that I was going to stop posting anymore domains here,

But you had to rehash the subject again and try to make my intentions look bad which in a way tells me that it is actually your intentions that are not very honorable here since you are passing judgment about me without knowing anything about my goals and ambitions.

I am not your average domainer, as a Human Rights and Environmental intellectual and activist I look at domains as a means for me to be able to pursue some of my projects in creating awareness around the issues that affect Humanity and our Home Planet.

So I don't look at this like a business as most of the other people here do, this is more like a passion for me that I am hoping that someday I can write my own book and create a real website for some of my domains.

Currently I have all my domains listed for sale (I do that as a habit), but if a nonprofit organization asks for my help it is not beyond me to donate a domain name if I believe it is going to be used for a good cause that is aligned with my goals and ambitions.

I do like to be able to sell some domains (preferably for a life changing amount) so that I can pay for my renewals and be able to follow through on some of my projects as an activist, but I am beginning to get the feeling that my abilities and ambitions are somehow being restricted because everyone is afraid of me telling the truth as I see it. I find it very unfair that those who are contributing to the demise of the society and the World are taken better care of by the Registrars and Registries than someone like me who wants to help create awareness about the issues that put Humanity and our Home Planet at risk.

I have always been a little worried in the back of my mind about whether the freedom of speech and expression was real or if I was going to be thrown under the bus by those who gave priority to their political, religious, racial, and economical interests, afflictions, and agendas over standing up for the Universal Principles and Values that I was trying to promote.

Some led me on by welcoming my ideas while pretending to be a force for good, but they finally pulled the rug from under my feet when I started to expose them for what they really were.

But I have found out the hard way that there are no good guys in the World now that I am being put in a situation that I have to starve and perhaps die because of lack of food and medicine. Even people who were friendly to me at one time are now shunning me ever since I started criticizing the religious people who were living in the lap of luxury and excesses with no care as to all the pain and suffering of others or maybe it was because of me questioning why so many politicians have accumulated so much wealth while in office and are living in multimillion dollar mansions by betraying the Humanity and our Home Planet that they were supposed to look after and protect or it could be for saying that some of the biggest powers in the World were not members of the World Court and that they didn’t even recognize the declaration of the Human Rights. Either way I am being canceled and silenced now because of the fact that I was shinning a light on all the lies, deceit, abuse, and bondage that has been going on at the hands of those who have become an obstacle in the way of human progress.

At the time I didn’t realize that those statements were going to cost me my life.

I replied to your post as a courtesy, but I consider this subject closed as I want everyone to get back to the original topic of this thread.

IMO

Nothing and Nothing IMO … I can’t think of one single thing that was accomplished or established .

Negatives : we spent trillions , we sent the best soldiers in the world not to win a war , once again. Our military was in tip top shape prior to IQ and AF, now we have thousands of dead soldiers , thousands of soldiers with severe PTSD , crippled for life soldiers.. a depleted military , unmotivated soldiers .

Not to forget , and honor the innocent Iraqis and Afghan Civilians killed in the 30 year war ..

I replied to your post as a courtesy, but I consider this subject closed as I want everyone to get back to the original topic of this thread.

IMO
I don’t even see what the problem is with posting your domain names , just ignore stupid shit

You said that Russia likes to be considered as a European Country,

Do you believe that there was ever a genuine friendship between Russia and the NATO Countries (including the United States) in the recent years before all these hostilities got started and if so why was this friendship lost (and can that friendship ever be reestablished if Russia continues to stay on the same course as it is now specially if weapons and methods of mass extermination are used in Ukraine).

I see some people in here far under estimating the Russian military , I hope Biden and other country leaders don’t do the same, Putin plays chess with things , Putin is not psychologically stable , Putin has always lived in the past and flaunted the USSR , but capability wise , I think Russia has a lot more than some people think, To get out of this at this point , there has to be a change of power in Russia , Putin is three sheets to the wind mentally now, without a change of power , today, I definitely think Nuclear bombing is probable … the longer Putin stays in power the greater of world devastation IMO

Biden gives Putin permission to use chemical / bio weapons in Ukraine.... just depends on how much they use.

AP's @ChrisMegerian: "You've warned about...chemical weapons being used. Have you gathered specific intelligence...and would the U.S. or NATO respond w/military action if he did use" them?

Biden says he can't answer the first part and it depends on how bad for the second part.

What a disaster. @bmugford, where are the adults who are supposed to manage this guy?

Biden expanding more on that question:-

ABC's @CeciliaVega: "[T]o clarify on chemical weapons, if [they] were used in Ukraine would that trigger a military response from NATO?"

Biden: "It would trigger a response in kin...[W]e'd make that decision at the time."

Clearly a warning towards Putin.

Interesting take, from someone who would be against Biden no matter what he said.

The NATO alliance has never been stronger.

Seems like telegraphing moves ahead of time would be irresponsible. The response will be proportional to what they do. It makes perfect sense.

The adults are in charge.

At least it was a tactfully spoken response , Biden has been gaslighting Putin since the conflict began.

Think of this , you have a person barricaded in a building holding hostages , threatening to kill all the hostages and himself, do you want to piss this off and cause the gunman to do it??

This no different , Putin has to be tactfully addressed right now , you have to appear as if negotiations are working to Putins demands somewhat . Otherwise , BOOOOOM IMO
