I finally made DNJournal weekly sales, but alas it was as a buyer. After almost 10 years (November 1996) of working on and running Aardwolf MUD, I finally picked up Aardwolf.com for $2500

The value of the name could be debated, but for something I've worked on for so long this was worth it to me. Switching hats, as a domain trader it also re-iterated that you can never really predict how or why someone wants to use a name, but if an end user takes the time to bid xxx on your name rather than just registering something else, they'll probably go higher.

Thanks everyone, appreciate the feedback. The site still refers to 'aardmud.org' all over the place (our previous hostname), only completed the transfer yesterday.

On a slightly different note, the previous URL (http://www.aardmud.org) had grown to PR4 with absolutely no SEO, we didn't even have meta tags until 2 weeks ago. Not sure if we still are, but we were also listed in the games directory at Yahoo and DMOZ. Will I basically be starting over on PR / engines with aardwolf.com? Not a huge deal as aardmud.org will stay active too, but I'd like to phase that our over time and bring in the much nicer aardwolf.com
