I chose this domain name because people think the new windows is called "VISA" instead of VISTA.
If you type "windows visa" in google news it shows that even the biggest corporations like foxnews and bbc are have called it "windows visa at one point."
This domain name has been up and running for only 2 days and ive alreay had 150 hits so far and 30 clicks on my ads.
you can view my stats on www.sedo.com

You might take into consideration that the Vista was actually released 2 days ago, and that this traffic will diminish as time goes by.

So you probably shouldn't even sell until you have a solid month of stats. Either that or ask alot less than 4k. And you should also show us the current revenue for the last 2 days seperately.

To my knowledge, Sedo is as good as most for parking (page looks neat), guess depends how much your getting per click through.?

I'm not really experienced enough in the field, but believe you'll going to need a month or two of healthy stats before asking in the range of 2k for it. In the mean time any earnings above your reg fee is a bonus..

Good luck

I had a WIPO brought against me by MS in October of 2005 for having registered over 50 domains that were similar to yours, including one that would probably be getting ten times the traffic yours currently is. As part of their initial case they listed many of my posts on this forum to indicate my intentions, so my suggestion would be to not make future posts such as this.

I will add though that they were more than fair with me and we eventually came to a mutual agreement. Thatโ€™s not to say they compensated me in any fashion but we settled amicably and I came away with a greater appreciation of what is an acceptable form of โ€œFanโ€ site as opposed to a traditional Cybersquat and the understanding that if a mark holder has been violated and can easily prove โ€œBad Faithโ€ the only possible recourse is to accept the inevitability.

Good luck,
Kimmy

Hello Kevin,

I really didn't necessarily consider it a mistake but rather a learning experience and how tedious an endeavor it can be for those enthusiastic to include themselves into an emerging technology when copyright inclusiveness is involved. Itโ€™s a fine line between a site that can prove beneficial to the proprietary rights holderโ€™s products and or services and that of an owner who is in direct violation of the DMCA.

Best wishes,
Kimmy

I have a question, would having that typo of WindowsVista be a trademark issue?

Perhaps but not necessarily, it would depend on several factors, most prominently the usage. If the domain were parked with lots ads about Microsoftโ€™s products all over it that would make it easier to prove bad faith and thereโ€™s a company called Cyveillance who can track virtually all occurrences for the history of a domain that their clients have involved with an ongoing dispute i.e. this thread.

Best wishes,
Kimmy

I wouldnโ€™t contact them if I was you; they probably donโ€™t even know the domain name exists. Even if they did, they might not have any interest in it. I hope my posts didnโ€™t frighten you, that was not my intention but rather to inform you that itโ€™s best not to disclose that your intentions of registering the domain name were in bad faith. I doubt they will ever contact you regarding this name.

Best wishes,
Kimmy

Microsoft is hot on the trail of registered domains that are not in their possession but infringe on their branding and TM.

For now, sit on it and hope for the best. Do not try to sell or publicize the domain name.

They donโ€™t need to investigate deeply; in fact, anyone can perform a domain search at Domaintools.com to investigate all the registered domains which infringe countless marks.
