.tv Will Tuvalu Disappear Beneath the Sea?

I've recently read a number of articles about the affects of global warming and apparently Tuvalu wiil be the first to disappear beneath the Sea.

Has anybody thought about the consequences of this on .TV? Can an assigned extension be taken away if a nation no longer exsists?

I think .tv will be going for .television eventually if Tuvalu disappears. there is no way to cancel off the current existed .tv websites.

If the country of Tuvalu disappeared tomorrow the .tv domain would not be affected in any way.

It is a still a ccTLD.

Take .su for example. The Soviet Union is no longer in existence, but the extension is now available for registration.

But on the other side, we have .gb. This extension stands for Great Britain, but will most likely never be used.
