Grab it now for cheap. It's price will boom within few years.

Despite their relative liquidity, I don't really touch 4L .com's because their initial purchase price is high .. and quite frankly .. unless you're going to do outbound, they will likely take a while for end users to find you.

But that actually brings me to the next more important point. Which is that I think the future will see "smarter" prices.

Meaning that the value will have a wider range depending on the actual letters and placement of said letters.

For instance if you listen to @DomainSherpa Reviews, you'll notice that @Domain Shane and @MediaOptions both tend to prefer 4L's ending in the letter "C" .. because it is essentially a 3L followed by "corporation" or "company" (which means a higher number of potential end users). On the other end, 4L's ending with "O" aren't so valuable because a lot of end users ending with "O" are "Organizations" .. which means that instead of grabbing the 4L, they'd likely grab the 3L in .org .. essentially lowering the number of potential end users and lower the "demand" side of "supply and demand".

The Chinese market is also getting smarter in that instead of just blindly buying everything that doesn't have "A E I O U V", they will likely move to value letters based on actual end user letters in actually use by real companies. Demand there was also artificially increased on Chinese Premium (Chips) liquid domains because of their weird p2p loan system that used liquid domains as collateral leading to a bubble effect.

Also .. as super premium one dictionary word .com's become ever more rare and more expensive, pronounceable 4L's that pass the "radio test" most certainly will see demand increase from new companies with serious funding in need of a serious brand name, as 3L's and good single words move into the 6 figure range (end user price).

So in the end I think from this point forward you'll see a wider range in pricing for 4L .. while some will likely go up significantly ... other will see softening and go down in value (although I don't think the bad ones will go down all that much .. they will still have some liquidity as there always seems to be some "investors" who buy stuff that don't make any sense to me because the chance an end user would ever use a domain like "KYWQ" are way too low to justify holding .. lol)

Similar thinking here. The truth is that many random 4L will not have enough possible uses as acronyms or abbreviations. While they may be able to retain liquidity among resellers, finding end users could be difficult. Accordingly, I would expect a downward correction in value because it has risen so sharply. The Chinese hype will only last for so long until the music stops.

IMO only pronounceable 4L .com can make sense.

Well said! Finding a 4-character Chinese phrase to form a 4L acronym domain name that makes sense is not easy.

The prices of all 4L types will increase. Nobody will dump anything in .com and the prices will go up.
That's my personal opinion and no investing advice!:xf.wink:

according to my portfolio, "random" four letter .com prices have increased a minimum of $20 each year, over the cost of registration fee, since 2006.> 2007

and...at that time, you could still hand-register some and they also were being "caught" by various venues.like enom's "clubdrop", where the most i paid there for any 4L.com was $240 for winning bid + $6.95 renewal, while the lowest was $5 winning bid + 6.95 renewal.

so, any name i hand-regged then for $6.95, i could sell today for $280 minimum

as such, i expect that average increase to continue, as more enthusiasts climb aboard.

here's another thread on same subject:

imo.....

Definitely increase but as with so many other areas the nicer ones will go up more than the less nice. I am so grateful to the ChiP boom for taking so many of my oddball 4Ls off my hand$.

I picked up tupz.com as a hand reg a few years ago. The "z" probably kills that for value though.

I sold a bunch for $15-$25 a few years ago. You never know what the future holds but i think they will increase over time.

i don't bother with 'chips' but nice pronouncables have held their value and will in the future. IMO

i liquidated my chips during the boom

Just curious, do you consider RETP to be pronounceable?
No but retpohio.com, retp.org have been developed already.

Will only go up in value IMO. Still good time for buying 4Ls. Good investment for those who are willing to hold and have patience which will eventually return high profits.

I think their value will probably increase, but to me some are just nonsense, four letters thrown together just to create a 4 letter .com domain.

I think 4 letters domain will hold their value, but I think "brandable" domains become much more valueable in the future than 4 letter domains just thrown together like domaintrades stated.

Two of my biggest sales were LLLL.com that ended with a Z so you never know :)
