Will search engines see my content if I use
Code:
<!--#include virtual="/filename.html"-->
in my pages? If so, what will they see? Just the include, everything but the include, the whole page?
I'm just wondering because I am working on a site that will have many pages and I'd like to try to avoid having to update hundreds of pages every time we change something. Thanks for any help!

If you use php include I am pretty sure they won't see it. Because spiders just spider html and the site and php is processed then displayed as html.

would iframes be better then includes then?

Search engines see the rendered page. Includes are fine.

includes are better than iframes for the latter feeds 2 or 3 pages at a time to search engines some sort of a spam.

I use php include and they see mine and index what is on it no problem.

Include is serverside so searchengine crawlers see it as content, so use include before iframes....

Was just about to say that, Includes are serverside, they are processed everytime the page is called for, regardless of who/what calls it. The page will display with all includes pulling their correct data for spiders and humans alike.

They only could spider the "result page" ,that is showing to any web browser, they can't spider your code sources :)
