Will 3 Letters .com increase in value with the new GTLDs?

I think 3 Letters .com will increase in value just because more people will be able to register their Acronyms. This means that more people will be on there knees to get the .com.

Am I wrong?

I think there are the same number of people want the .com now as there will be when they registered with all those gtlds. But I think the LLL.COM market will still be bouyant. The argument could also play out in reverse. All these new gtlds LLL domains might put a cap on prices of the .com domain. But they will still be the LLL domain to own. So I don't see prices slipping, personally.

One thing we should know.

Its easier to decide what the public need but you can't decide what they want!

Go get the .web and go tell people to stop using .com..
.Co was launch 3 years from now and Public still type .Com and many of them don't even know that there is a bunch of other TLDS out there!

A lot of LLL.com sales are from one domainer to another. The massive influx of gtlds, to me, seems like that a good percentange of that money that would have been spent on LLL.coms is not going to be there because domainers are going to spend money on gtlds.

I think LLL.coms will not increase in value in the short term and in the long term they will drop.

That's a good point, because I think that domainers are the biggest victims of new TLDs whenever they are released and presented as the next big thing. I think this is one reason why the reseller market has crashed: too much money has been wasted on dubious extensions that predictably failed to perform. Yet I wouldn't say it is a zero-sum game.

Im planning on Buying a 3 Letters for development.
My name will worth way more than other GTLDs...

Why we need to consider the new GTLDs as a reall opportunity?

For now we have: .Travel, .PRO, .TV, .WS, .biz, .MOBI, .ME, .INFO, .CO

Most of the premiums Domains in other extension than the .com are just Parked Pages..
There is not much End-Users that will pay for another GTLD than .com.

An other tough: End-Users always tried to get the shortest domain. Lets try to sell Insurance.Website lol Id go with .ws First!
