I wonder whether it would be possible for Gtlds operators (not registrars, operators the ones above registrars) could outrageously increase the prices of niche gtlds when people really need it.
For instance, the Radix company owns .host it is obviously for hosting companies. The said tld is already expensive ($80 in namecheap?)
After several hosting companies switch to .host, they would really need it because that's the Tld for their business website. In this case, is it possible that Radix increase their prices when all the customers are hooked?
I think it can be the same with many niche Gtlds. On the other .com , .org or .net don't suffer this issue because they are so generic so that a blog or a big business can both choose a dot com for instance. They don't give a hint about anything.
