I just saw domain nftnug.com on GoDaddy auctions, price for that domain is 40,000eur
Is this some joke or this domain really costs that much? If yes, why? What is special about this domain? It really looks nothing special for me, I wouldn't even buy it for 30usd

The views expressed on this page by users and staff are their own, not those of NamePros.
You can compare prices at valuate website, and you'll get a website appraisal report that reveals how much a website costs.

@NickB , indeed it's the case, yet 40000 to me is nonsence... There is no way someone will be paying this (ar even 10 times less at this point) for the NFT+slang word domain.
So, to answer the initial question of @Outworld : yes, there is something in it (NFT), yet, IMO, real value of such domain would be around 1-5% of what's listed, if that...

Hi

the answer is yes, if you are willing and able to pay that amount for it.

it's all based on a "domain owners right, to price their domains, as they see fit."

a domain, doesn't have to be worth the asking price, it only has to have a price, to sell.

imo...

@Outworld This is just the price the seller set for the domain. You can indeed conclude that the domain really costs that much, because of that :xf.smile: But maybe you can negotiate a better deal with the seller.

There are a lot of domaining and pricing strategies, and we don't know the complete picture. Setting it too high and the domain may never sell. Setting it too low and it may sell very fast. A balanced, realistic pricing with a good yearly turnover rate is my personal favorite, with some exceptions up and down the portfolio. With new registrations and acquisitions, I tend to price them a bit too high in the first period, and adjust later on, when I have more data.

That is not the value but the price set by seller. In other words it is listed at 40k because the seller says so. I can now hand reg a random domain for $9 and list it for sale for 1 million who will prevent me from doing that?

Its priced like that, it doesnt mean its worth that or will ever sell for that. The same as Buoogle.com is priced on Ebay for $500k, it has nothign to with the value.

There are a lot of of newbie dreamers out there :xf.smile:

It may say $40k ...but I bet if you approached the owner with $10k, he'd think about it

Domains are worth what an owner puts them up for. In reality, it goes for less

Our most valued member @Bob Hawkes also wrote several highly appreciated articles on pricing (and prices of) domains here on this forum. Absolutely priceless.
