Why are InMotion Hosting domains so expensive? what makes them so special?

While the annual price of other domain providers is around $15 the monthly price of a domain in InMotion Hosting is $9.9 without the discount.

What domain provider do you recommend?

See this thread by @equity78 for the current namepros champion. Have a good read through it. Many registrars offer a discount on the first year, so remember to note renewal prices too.

Hosting providers base their business on hosting. And they resell domains.
So their business is not the domain.
Moreover there are customer that want to buy domain+hosting from a single provider without looking at how much the domain costs.
