Why isn't there .go ?

With the hundreds or perhaps thousands of new ones coming out, I have not heard a peep about .go. Why not?

All the .LL are reserved for future ccTLDs.

Oh yes of course, I forgot. I wonder why it's taking so long? ICANN should give every country with no ccTLD a time limit of six months to come up with one so we can have the other LL GTLDs.

Countries get divided, amalgamated and annexed. Kosovo (formed 2008) doesn't have a formal code only a temporary code of .xk until the ISO officially gives it a code.

There is an important fact for you to grasp hold of...ICANN doesn't care what you think, and in this instance I'm glad.

Were you abused sometime in life to be so trollingly mean?

LOL, I tell the truth and disagree with you therefore I'm a troll with an abusive childhood. At least you're consistent in lashing out at people on a personal level when they don't share your point of view. Your personal attack doesn't change the fact that ICANN doesn't care what you (or I) think, and that I think it's a bad idea to further confuse the web by removing the country code exclusivity of the .CC namespace.

For the same reason there is no .stop?
or no .worldslongestdomainextension

I think the more interesting question is ...

Why are they stopping eco and, I've heard, love?

Ostensibly because they are confusing with .eco? love is listed as a TM protection? Whaaat??? Really? This is where domainers will see the stupidity of the argument "the registrar should prevent me from registering a trademark".

But then why can I buy kitchen.gallery? or bike.enterprises?

It all seems rather arbitrary. It all seems rather profity. It all seems rather amateur hour.. oh wait, it is!

I don't understand that either and am the most heavily impacted. I put up a page you can make votes on this topic and get more insight: http://www.cool.ventures/ecogallery.html

another poster mentioned in a different thread "they're (the registries) just selling the scraps now"

its true and maybe even a decent strategy... reserve the best stuff and when dough mainers register all the semi-good stuff thennnnnnn release the actual good domain hacks.. first at "premium pricing" then drop it down to regular pricing if it doesnt sell.

sure, some of them may be required by ICANN to be reserved..so maybe it wasnt a completely deliberate strategy by the registries themselves but ends up working the same.

Since I'm watching these from the sidelines I haven't combed through the reserved lists, is it like Reserved and Premium .mobi lists? dotMobi is still sitting on the largest .mobi portfolio with many of the best keywords. If their goal was strictly cashing out then they missed their own pricing bubble. Will be interesting to see how long new registries hold on to theirs.
