Why expeired domains are always expensive even w/o PR and traffic?

One of my domains had expired 2 years ago and until now no one owns it... but the price is too high... Can i re-purchase my own domain with it's original price?

u can always register your name from the very beginning. and probably its your name so u may even wait for many years to come till u find someone of the same name as you are.!
