Why can't I backorder .ca with GoDaddy?

Can someone explain to me why i can't monitor/backorder a .ca domain with GoDaddy? When i tried to add a backorder on a .ca domain, I got the message "These domain extensions may not be monitored or backordered." Is it just GoDaddy? I see Pool.com offer .ca backorders.

Not all .ca registrars offer backordering services. And Godaddy happens to be among those that don't.

Pool is a good choice though.

I would never backorder any domain at Godaddy because they will send the domain to auction even if you are the only person to backorder.

I know two websites that provide .CA backorder. One is pool.com, as you have already mentioned, the other is sibername.com.

As for monitoring .ca domains, I provide this service for free on my website and I don't know any other website that does. As soon as the domain is published on the TBR (to be released) list you will get a free email notification along with the last backorder date and a link to backorder.

For Canadian domains

If the .ca will attract alot of attention you pretty much have to use Pool. If its something that won't attract attention you could use other companies and not pay $60. Baremetal.com has a lower priced system. So does namespro.ca but make sure you enter your credit card info when you order the domain.
