I have few questions about GoDaddy backorder.
This is my first time using GoDaddy backorder.
  1. Is it true that if i backorder a domain which is registered in GoDaddy, i have bigger chance to have it than if the domain is registered outside GoDaddy?
  2. My friend said
    1. even if i have backordered a GoDaddy domain with GoDaddy backorder service, the domain will go on TDNAM when it is expired, and i should go to the TDNAM auction too.
    2. i shouldn't backorder a GoDaddy domain with GoDaddy backorder service because finally the domain will be on TDNAM if it is expired.
I should wait until the TDNAM auction is started and i don't need to backorder it before.
    Is it a correct opinion?
  3. Is there any plus or minus from public / private GoDaddy backorder?
  4. Does GoDaddy backorder works fine on domain which is not registered in GoDaddy, Moniker, and NetSol?
Thank you :)

Don't know but I would like to know this before I fork out 20 dollars.. .Not much in the general scheme of things but there we have it!

An expiring name that is registered at godaddy will first be available at tdnam as a prerelease.
Likewise the expired domains that are registered at netsol or enom are exclusively available at namejet etc.

But if the name gets no bids then the registrar will let it drop and it will enter redemption status, then pending delete then it is deleted and it's a free for all. Any dropcatcher could get it.
So it all depends on the current domain status. Check that it's not in redemption yet, it should be available at tdnam upon expiry.

As a dropcatcher godaddy usually doesn't do as well as bigger catchers like snapnames & pool. They can still be successful at grabbing domains nobody is after.

Thank you, Kate. What about the snapping chance comparison between a name that is registered on GoDaddy and not on GoDaddy?

If the name is deleting it doesn't matter where it's registered at. It's the registry (Verisign) that decides the exact moment the domain is to drop.
