Why are Google ads so amiss on WhyPark??

I've got 64 domains on WhyPark and I've got adsense ads listed on some strong keyword domains.

I've even added a keywords meta tag to the 'verification' pane. but no matter what I do, Google seems to not come up with ads to match the content nearly as well as sites I host myself.

Why is that? It's a really deterrent for me to trust WhyPark as a good place to park sites if that isn't correctable.

That's a Google problem more than a WhyPark problem. It can take AdSense a while to figure out the correct targeting, and if you have a lot of words with double or triple meaning, it gets even worse. It took a slap eighteen months for them to start delivering highly targeted, good paying ads to one of my primary sites.

All you can do is make sure you have WhyPark's keyword set such that your articles are *very* targeted only to that keyword (I'd suggest only using ONE keyword to start) and see how that affects the ad targeting.

If your topic is too broad, it's never going to work well.

Roger. Will try that, but the thing is that on my own hosted web pages I get much better targeting. Maybe it's just my imagination. Anyway, following your advice ... Not too broad, not too many, not too niche. Gonna scratch that itch.

Thanks.

Be patient, wait a day - at least.

Sometimes it's instant matching once you place the code, sometimes it may take a bit longer.

Sky, you may also want to add a keyword rich site description. That could help. Another option you could try is to feature only around 5-6 totally keyword relevant articles.

Here's one way to do it...First enter your seed Kw in the keywords box. Next, submit your Kw and view your sitemap. You might see 30-40 articles in the sitemap. Choose 5-6 relevant articles and copy them to notepad/wordpad. Next, select "add custom pages". In the page title copy your article title. In the page summary, add 7-10 lines of your article. Then in the page content, add your full article and submit. This should bring your custom article on the home page. Repeat the process for the other 5-6 articles and now you have your own selected targeted articles.

Note: To display only your custom articles, make sure that you later delete the root kw from your kw box in site settings. Now since, the WP system needs some entry in the Kw box to function optimally, you can replace it with some obscure word like "jhtre" which acts as a Kw but will also not pull up any other relevant articles. This ensures that only your targeted articles appear on your site.

Good luck :)

Thanks AWRosey. :) For domains which lack relevant Kw related topics, you can also try directly copying articles from article directories like ezine, articlesbase, buzzle etc and adding them as custom pages, but make sure to add the author link.

I have always felt that it's better to retain just 5-6 KW relevant articles on a WP site. No point having 100's of duplicate articles with 200 outbound links. That is going to hurt you more than doing any good. Also, if you are adding articles as custom pages, you may want to delink the article, using the "remove link" feature in the custom page "page content editor". To make things easier just use CTRL+A and select the entire article and click on "remove link". I see no problem with not having an active hyperlink back to the author's site, as long as you have the author credits intact.

When I first joined WP years back, I used to individually check each article on Google to view the number of sites it had been posted on. I would then narrow down the articles which had very few sites using them and use only those in my custom pages. But, this can be time consuming and there is no guarantee that this might help in any way.

The best option, ofcourse, is to write your own articles.

Agreed, thanks for sharing Varon. Those tips could be very handy on some of my more "niche" and non-US WP sites. Repped :)

Cheers, Jon
