I own this domain WhoisPet.com and I want to develop it for people who lost their pets and want to post their stories online; kind of lost and found website. Do you guys think that the name "whoisPet" is great for this project? I am afraid that the word "whois" is not common among people. Also, I don't have any programming or web designing experience.

Thanks!

I honestly don't think I'd type "whois" or "who is" on a search engine If I lost a pet or if I found an animal that might belong to someone. But having the word pet in the domain name is definitely a good thing. All the best! :)

People might misremember it as WhosePet.com a lot, especially if they hear about the name when someone else says it out loud but doesn't write it out. Good luck with the site though, it sounds like a good idea.

Whois means a webmaster term for looking up a domain's information. Which is why in my personal opinion you should develop that as a whois site (even if you make and sell it on) and get another name for your pet site because like AirSim mentioned people could misremember the domain as Whosepet.com

What a great idea for a site!
Good luck!
I have to say "who is pet" just doesn't make much sense to me. But than again...alot of sites names don't "make sense" and it works great.
