As promised in a precedent thread please aknowledge a list of WHOIS that do not record the available domains.
I would once again in this way discard the ipothesis that Josh of Estibot has taken somehow advantage of his good tool to reg valuable domains.
Please check http://www.eplot.net/whois.php, where is clearly stated that:
"Some pages, including some domain name registrars, record the whois lookups and actually register the names themselves if the whois lookup result is the name is available. Then when the person attempts to register it, they notice that it is now taken, and may see a "for sale" page on it, obviously at a rate more than standard registration.
This whois lookup is not recorded in any way. If you look up a name and it is available, it will not be registered. There is no way for us to know what was looked up. .
or as stated in http://www.purewhois.com/ Many web based "whois" search tools have begun selling the domain search data from their tools (aka: "domain sniffing"), which means if you run a search for a potentially valuable name and don't register your name quickly, someone else will. Don't risk losing your domain name ideas. PureWhois.com only collects the data needed to monitor the performance of our services and will not resell your search data.
This spying system does exist and evebody should be aware of it!
(PS i am not affiliated or have any kind of relationship with the above signaled WHOIS services...)
Hope can help you! :hi:
