Whois Search by Registrant Name?

Does anyone know of a tool that searches the whois registry database by registrant name? I am performing some competitive analysis and noticed our competition has a slew of domains. They spread them around on different IPs, so the reverse IP search for the sites we know about only paints a partial picture. However, they have used 3 versions of the same registrant name.

Any ideas?

Hello and welcome to NP.
I don't think such a tool is available.
The registry holds the zone files and those files only contain domain information like DNS. The other part of the information (whois) is kept with the registrar.

To achieve that purpose you would need to merge the whois data from ALL registrars and then match it with the registry files.
Needless to say it would be a huge task with more than 52 million names registered just for .com

Good question!

I remember when NetSol was the "only" registrar and you could query a family/business name and see what was registered.

Bet the privacy police put an end to that.
