Whois problem with LRQS.com

Hi, I recently tried to transfer LRQS.com to Godaddy but it failed becausse whois shows either error or "Could not connect to registrar whois server: whois.communigal.net. ". It is registered at Galcomm.com and it doesn't have privacy or anything like it. This domain is about to expire and I can't push or transfer it. I have emailed galcomm.com twice within the last week or so but have not received an answer yet. I want to keep domain domain but I don't want to deal with errror message when I try "Whois" because I can't park or sell it. This registrar is in Israel and I live in the US and don't want to spend a lot of money on long distance with a domain I may or not renew. What else can I do to remedy problem? Any help would be appreciated. Thanks

you might need to renew the domain then try transfer to GD

I thought about renewing it and transfering it later but renewal at galcomm is like $14 plus $7 transfer for Godaddy is a little high for me to spend on this domain. It expires on June 29 and I probably won't renew it. Thanks
