This guy is taking my searches and regging my domain
searches in real time. This is unbelievable. I'm no
newbie to tasting, but this is ridiculously fast.

:-/

8 domains lost in last 13 minutes.

Or is Estibot.com's site that compromised.
Searches performed with Dynadot's bulk search feature.

Chris Olszewski I'd guess, based on the whois for olsz.com

I've no idea how exactly this is being done without more information. By your post, am I right in guessing you're typing the domains into Estibot for a value, then going to Dynadot to register?

that sounds fishy but did you obtain that list from somewhere?
did u use estibot appraisal first then dynadot search?

Let us know exactly what you're doing so we can figure it out; Esa (at Estibot) uses a secure source for the name searches on his site, so if you're ONLY using Estibot and your searches are being seen we'll let him know pronto, as his security has been breached somehow.
But if you're doing something else as well, like doing your searches at a registrar before or after the Estibot search, that's the more likely culprit... let us know

Edit: I reread your first post and now I think I get it... you're searching names on Estibot, saving them in the bulk save area, then pasting them all into Dynadot's bulk search tool... and then they are being tasted/sniffed by olsz very quickly, right? How quick is quick... do you mean within a couple hours or a few minutes? If it's within a couple hours, I've lost a lot of names that way from sniffers, when I've searched at namecheap, godaddy, moniker, etc. But if it's within a few minutes, that's getting scary.
Incidentally, have you contacted this person olsz? Domain sniffers often (but not always) have a link to contact them in case they've taken a name you really want and have a use for. Domain sniffing is starting to get frowned upon, they see possible legislation/lawsuits on the horizon, and often make it possible to turn over the name to you if you inquire. You can always try that but no guarantees of course.

3 minutes after your search is a pretty scary deal.
Forget searching through registrars, use a secure search too. I use dnaz (domain name analyzer), which you can download for free. Takes about 2 minutes to get it set up and about 5 minutes to learn, and your searches won't be seen. Grab it here or from a number of sites:

Happen to me at Namecheap a few months back. 1 minute the domain was available. I went to do some research on the name, and when I tried to register it, it was gone. Registered to someone else.

I had same problem last year at registerMaggots.com before they went belly up
I soon stopped their little scam by submitting for bulk search some of the crappiest/dumbest names i could think of.

I now do all my checking though my own reseller site admin area ,it is has a domain search/whois checker tool

Lol... and don't tell me you actually trust a company that calls themselves RegisterMaggots...

Woops I shouldn't say stuff like that :bah: My username doesn't sound too trustworthy either ;)

sure. it is intellectual property. it was my idea. i'm not a lawyer but i'm certain a case could be made for this in a court of law. problem is each individual theft isn't worth much money so it isn't worth going after it, but it most certainly is theft imo

While you have my sympathy on what happened, sorry to say ideas currently
aren't issued copyright protection (although their expression can be). Neither
do domain names issue any kind of intellectual property right.

Given that ideas aren't intellectual property (yet), there's no case to be made
in a court of law. In the U.S., anyway.
