God knows how many times I've had the agony of having to do godaddy pushes into another godaddy account and the nightmare they usually are

FIRSTLY

Is it really necessary to list all that stupid info for the new owner (in this age of identity theft its such a dumb idea to ask people for all that info)

SECONDLY

The more domains you have at godaddy the longer it takes to scroll through all those damn pages to find the domain you wanty to push, when you finally do - and God knows it takes FOREVER - often the godaddy page fails to load so you have to start all over again !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

THIRDLY

Ive also lost count of the number of times Ive filled out all the push info and confirmed it only to have to start again as having listed one name selected godaddy suddenly decides that you selected 0 names

I really despise their interface
If i go into my fab account I can push a name in 5 seconds
I won't even get into the TOTAL drag of having to accept an account change / incoming push

Why the hell dont they have a USER FRIENDLY system, rather than search through tonnes (uk spelling) of pages you search for the name you want to amend and be able to do it in seconds

aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaarrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrggggggggggggggggggggh :yell: :yell: :yell: :yell: :yell:

Nothing's wrong with GD panel imho. It's one of the best.

GG & eg - you can click on the "Bulk" tab on the left ... and copy and paste the domains you want to manage ... they will appear together in the main window ...

also , in general , wait for the page to load ("Done" on the status bar) so as to avoid the not-getting-processed thing (not appearing in the being processed window while you did select them to be processed)

Thanks for the tip Godian:)

I was trying to sort them by expire date to get them on the same page.. LOL

Cheers,

I have had no problems with pushing names. It is very fast and efficient as far as I am concerned. Try typing in the name you want to push in the browser box at the top of your first page of domain names. It will take you right to that name instead of going through countless pages.

the "Search" tab is also useful (together with the advanced search inside it) ... you can use it to display only domains starting/containing a specific letter sequence , certain TLDs , nameservers , auto-renew-status , lock-status , etc

Back to the Original Poster's point -

I am setting up a website of domains for sale. For each registrar I have a couple sentences on what info I need and how the push happens. Godaddy is now at 25 lines. Exactly how to ruin a sale.

One idea I have had --- has anyone tried to use the transfer-in process with a domain that is already at Godaddy? That might simplify things and not require that the customer give me all that information. It would mean a year's renewal charge, though.

GoDaddy is GREAT compared to 1and1's interface and transfer process-Id much rather get poked in the eye with a rusty screwdriver than transfer \push with 1and1

sorry, but if you fly economy class, don't expect to get a business class seat.
Godaddy is economy class: it gets you to where you're going but it is not comfortable.

completely agreed. Moniker is first class for me. Now if they'll just give me the $7 renewals. Grr...

interestingly, I haven't had any problems with godaddys interface.
I like that DNS change takes only a few minutes, Moniker changes it in a few hours...
Pushing is also very easy, I don't see any problems there...

So far my experience with Godaddy is even better than with Moniker (which as I understand is the "best in industry")

Call Moniker and ask for the Namepros member special pricing. Not sure what it is now, but before the Verisign price increase .coms were $6.95 and .nets were $5.50.

What am I missing here? You have to collect name, full address, telephone and email from the customer (people just love to give their information to strangers), type /paste it all in --- all at the unbeliveably, painfully, excrutiatingly slow pace soon to be known as the Godaddy DCC molasses crawl. Then the customer has to go through the entire check-out process with pages and pages of "special offers".

And then the domain is in a brand new account, even if the customer had a Godaddy account already, with no way I know to push it into their old account.

Do you have another way to push a domain from my Godaddy account into another, existing godaddy account?

as long as the email address they gave you is the main email address for the other account, then it should get pushed into their existing account.

Thank-you, that helps.

I'd rather keep all my teeth so I guess I'd rather deal with the Godaddy push :)

It is slow because it is ASP.NET.
ASP.net is more sturdy and secure than PHP, although it is tiringly slow. Guess thats something you gotta bear with to make your website more secure and steady.
And i do agree it has a lot of features, the only problem i have is at the time of pushing. You select domains and when u click on "Account Change" the list of domains displayed below becomes to small to verify whether u selected the domains right.
Other than that, its smooth sailing.

good to see this is a hot topic as its my pet hate
in 5yrs of domaining ive had loads of issues (like many of us) from the TOTAL crooks at registerfly (YES they are still in business and still send me emails asking if i want to starting dealing with them again - UNBELIEVABLE, go Icann go !)

I still maintain that godaddy is the worst interface by a mile !

In fact I had the dreaded need to log in 2 nights back to change dns for a website of mine and it was just the same - Diabolically slow, I won't even tell you how long it took

I was so cheesed off I swam to the north pole and had all my teeth pulled by a penguin (check earlier posts if you think im on drugs)
