In the backend of godaddy i cant seem to find a way to push a domain to another godaddy user without all the details like name, address, city etc..

Is there a way to do it with just the email address? The "Change Accounts" form seems to require your lifes story..

Any information or hints is greatly appreciated.

Cant seem to find this info on the godaddy site either.

Cheers,
Matt

Ive had a couple people tell me all you need is an email address, but im stuffed if i can figure out how you can do it with just the email address.

Please guys, any help is greatly appreciated.

I transferred a name just yesterday.
Enter the correct email address. This is important.
Enter the buyer's NP or ebay or Joe Soap name
Enter makeup address.
This will work. The buyer can change the details afterwards.

As yoshi says, the Email is the only important one, the rest is just information.

Ah i c :) well that explains things..thx guys. I think its about time godaddy did away with all that rubbish then, and just had email. Most of the other registrars ive dealt with only require an email or the username of another account holder.

More often than not, the buyer will supply the contact info, (particularly w/ the more substantial sales), and I paste it in. I always give my actual info to save me the extra step unless I'm cloaking the whois. The info will be publicly avail., so it doesn't really accomplish anything to keep my identity from the buyer. Occasionally, when in the mood, I'll get creative and go w/ something like Sid Sixpack, 123 Potbelly Corner, Sudsville Junction, Alaska etc., if the domain was beer related, for instance. B-)

I've never quite understood why GoDaddy requires more than just the email as is the case w/ eNom and several other registrars- maybe the way their db is setup or a confirmation/mngt philosophy/protocol thingy.

It's necessary because there isn't another option. ICANN requires valid information to be provided about owners, if not the real info then what can GoDaddy submit when propagating? Your name and address, instead of the receiver's?

Contact info is a serious matter and I wasn't implying that it should be taken lightly. In the case of an inner-registrar transfer/push where the buyer prefers to remain anonymous, does not wish to disclose his full info and opts to enter his contact info after he receives the transfer (ie for ID protection/whois cloaking purposes), under the GoDaddy system, the seller is left no option but to dummy in the info. The only real info that GoDaddy needs or uses for purposes of verification is the contact email. The buyer or transferee already has a profile on file in GoDaddy's db that connects the email address to the whois contact info that the customer has filed w/ them. GoDaddy could automatically apply the buyer's whois info to the account that is connected to the verification email in the same manner that other registrar's do, (ie eNom, Registerfly, NameCheap), and bypass the need for the seller to fill out the complete contact info, which is often a farce, anyways.
