Would a .ws domain with a famous persons name be better then an alternate .com name?

Example

jessicalba.ws or jessicaalbaonline.com/unofficialjessicaalba.com?

I dont mean for resale, I mean for search engines, would the .com do better even with an extra word?

I know its all about how you do the sites, i.e SEO friendly etc but if you had to pick one or the other which would it be?

IMO, .com would be better choice as it will search friendly also. .ws won't be a great choice for an famous name.

Search Engines Don't care less about extension when ranking ,but some primitive old technology Browsers (Like IE) prefer .com 's when used for searching

I myself stay away from .ws sites. Why? Because of the way the registry for .ws used spam to promote it.

Search for "Whois" and see where whois.sc is standing...

I think if you do a good SEO, your .ws can do better than long .com name. but then again, deponds on your keywords, maybe instead of adding online or unofficial you could add a more relevant keyword and keep it .com and get some traffic for the relevant keyword too.

So scripts.com.sg ranks higher than freephpscripts.com when someone type's in "scripts" in Google (assuming the PR,backlings, etc are equal)?

Although search engine dose not care .com or .ws, I still would like to choose .com as the extension!

I'd go with the .ws - simply because you're getting pretty long with those .com names. In spite of what some here are saying, a .com doesn't give you a better ranking in the search engines - they could care less what the extension is - check the Google results for David Beckham as an example, Geocities pages are up top. The .ws extension is memorable (because most associate .ws with .website) and the name works better than adding online or something similar IMHO.
