If you were going to develp a site about a travel destination (without investing neither much time nor money), which name would you pick, the name of the destination itself on an obscure ccTLD or a .com consisting of destination + additional words?

For example, lets assume that the destination was North Carolina (not the actual one), then the choice would be between

NorthCarolina/./ws
and
MyNorthCarolinaGuide/./com (or something like that)

Which one would you pick?

I would try to stick with the 3 major TLD's. I would also try to find some sort exact match or really good brandable.

Something like TravelToNorthCarolina / / com , you know a sort of long tail phrase to draw folks in!

Others may disagree but i feel that if you can get a .ws you should grab it. The value and popularity will grow in time.

I will always go with .com .net or .org unless it is a country specific project.

I agree with usa666 that you should spend some time picking good combination names to make it sounds and looks good!
