The views expressed on this page by users and staff are their own, not those of NamePros.
I really don't like any of those either. I would take some time, maybe try the Aftermarket or come up with some better ones.

The problem with all the domains you listed is that they are singular. So the brand expectation is that when someone goes to the website, there will just be one domain for sale. Effectively the choices simply aren't gramatically correct I'm sorry to say.

Domain in the singular would work as a prefix (although not really with the word you have there .. maybe DomainProsper could be usable .. but not very good in my opinion).

I have tons of good marketplace domains that I've been collecting over the last 3 years .. if you're patient, a few good ones come up every now and then.

@frank-germany You're all about domains and your name is Frank...

FranklyDomains.com :-P

I agree with @JB Lions, I really don't like any of these for a Domain Sales Website. The problem for me is none of the names before "Domain" indicate anything to do with sales. I would recommend typing in "Domain Sales" into Lean Domain Search and see if they give something you like. Personally I prefer to have the search term first. YMMV.

I do not like any of those names. At the moment you can hand reg something like iron / domains or emerald / domains for standard reg fee - so get something short, nice and memorable and build nice brand for yourself around it. Just imo :)

Would be better to pick:
DN+something
or
Name+something

DN means a lot to domainers but no so much to everyday folks. I own that domain in .ca and I can tell you a lot of people have now idea what it means. Don't get me wrong DN is a good brand but domain is better in my opinion.

Yes Frank those are all terrible.

Why are you bent on .com? At the very least, go aftermarket as Lions suggested, at the very best you can probably figure out a sweet new G.

You will need an aftermarket name for this. You need a premium domain to host a premium domain marketplace. You can't expect a customer to put up cash for your names if you aren't leading by example.

thanks a lot to all of you
looks like I have to rethink it

as a non-native english speaker
I definitely quite often
miss the nuances in meaning and taste of a domain name

that's why most of my domains are .de

but in this case, I'm looking for an internationally fitting name

When you select your keyword you can add...

domains or names or dots or brand, or store

I used to be called MapleDomains with a .ca and a famous domainer was sitting on the .com.

I knew Maple was the keyword I wanted so I simply switched to dots and I managed to snag the .ca and the .com.

So find a few keywords that resonate with you that you could build your brand on and then fool around with the examples I gave above as your second word.

I am not sure that I agree that the singular aspect makes the suggestions bad. I would interpret the singular as implying it is a place to get a domain (of which many would be offered).

I am not wildly enthusiastic about the ones suggested and probably agree with majority to keep searching. If I had to choose one it would be Transit as it implies a domain acquisition as a way to get somewhere which is a nice analogy. That being said, some will think it means transportation niche.

I think to know what is best, I would need to know more what type of domains you mainly plan to emphasize. Like for example prosper to me definitely means business domains and possibly even financial niche widely interpreted.

You have been successful in this business a long time @frank-germany. Ideally a name than instils trust and implies your long term selling of domain names would be ideal.

Another question to ask is do you only do domain sales, or do you also see branding and naming consultation and analysis. If so, domain may be limiting.

More questions than answers. Best wishes as you consider rebranding.

Bob

speaking like epik would do:
the artificial intelligence robot
will discover if I have a BIN set or not even that will be country optimized

@Rob Monster -- Can you elaborate more on epiks AI robot? I wasn't aware of this until Frank just informed me.

So, will this robot detect IP address, and render language settings based on cookies or language used on previously browsed page? Does the robot issue different prices for IP addresses based out of the USA and less expensive prices for IP addresses coming from low cost of living locations? Even better, match the IP address with a zillow home value, and charge each IP a varying BIN, based on a percentage of the IP address location's zillow appraisal.

Also, Frank, can we be frank? Why would you take a jab at epik, if just last week you were complaining about namePros being taken over by rob and epiks nP involvement? Now, you opened up this thread for a reply like mine (that tagged rob), and now by me tagging rob, and you mentioning epik here, epik now has a legit reason to respond here, at which point you may even feel epik is taking over thiiiis thread.

Frank, a domain example (landing page) you included in related thread was .de. Do you have significant %%% of potential buyers from Germany, for .de domains to begin with and/or for German .coms? If so, it is not obvious that *english keywords* in the website name would be well understood by all potential visitors. Similarly, naming it in German may not be memorable or convinient for English speaking visitors. A difficult dilemma. So, did you consider some 5-7 letters "brandable" which is pronouncable on both languages, but by itself does not have any dictionary meaning. Google. They are operating on "google.com" and not on "SearchEngine.com" - an easy example.
Just my 2c.

Agree with the majority - None of them are any good, To be honest they all read like they have been contrived by a Non-English speaker.

delivering a type of Over-promise / Under deliver service from the getgo.

I agree you would be wise to change "buyuseddomain" Sounds a bit like buying second hand car type of name. Like No, I don't know the history or previous use of the domain and trust me you Don't want to know either.

If your going to include the 'Domain' word I agree you must use the plural 'Domains'

Look for a good Simple positive word to sit with domains but avoid anything ostentatious or over-exaggerating

Comments here:

- The marketplace topic is relevant. I am actively considering to move marketplace.epik.com to a new brand name and combining the functionality of Sedo/Afternic/NJ with the functionality of Flippa into one.

- It is good to see more folks doing naming polls. They are great conversation-starters especially if it is combined with a budget to buy something. Not so here.

- The promise of AI is to make systems smart, adaptive, and capable of learning patterns. At Epik, we are still early in the journey but we have learned a lot of what works, and are turning this into software.

- The example AI rule you conceived is a great example of using structured data to adapt the offer strategy. The GEO IP2 database is not very granular, but El Toro can get super-targeted.

Hope that helps.

You could always try posting a thread in domains wanted to see what other np members have to offer. I did that and I got lots of names I didn't like and/or thought weren't reasonable priced but I did find one at a good price.

i like the high speed one, Frank.

there’s no plural or any other form of it

sounds like “high speed internet”... internet is ubiquitous with domains

Immediate domain.... my #2

Worry about alternatives to “Immediate”
there’s So many thesaurus words for “fast”
so what if people forget, and substitute another

you can do cool things with logo, though

i dont like urgent domain, cuz “urgent” sounds unplanned, even tho mean “fast” “high priority”

Please avoid transfer + Prosper ones’
i want cumbersome DN transfer process easy
why u want associated with “transfer” in name?
right now transfers hassle.. we want it over wit

Prosper domain... keep thinking “prosperous” domain both re correct english. try get this, too
