Would you rather have:

Your Country's Domain (for me it is .co.uk)
Or A .com/.net

I would say my both, but if i had to choose, i would say .co.uk

Hands down, unfortunately. .com is universal, country codes are usually most popular in that country or region alone. Domain sales history is usually telling enough in this case.

.com all the way. Unless it was UK specific and would never have any potential outside the UK.

Yeh it really does depends on the purpose of the site. For global forums it would have to be .com (personally I hate .net, just seems like an alternative to .com) but for portfolios I think that country specific is best.

.com always

.com or .net. Personally I like .net better because it wouldn't be recognized as a company just a network/site.

I use both, although i think if i was a citizan of the US, i would not use .us

Matter of national proud, dot com for granted though

however if I had not other option between both and my country domain would be so meaningful to me and my project, I would stick to it

Oh yeah traffic... well, I would wait until I had the choice to get the com altogether and the I would redirect it as BBC does going to co.uk when you type the dot com

I prefer the .com -- besides it being more popular and more recognized worldwide, it's also cheaper than my ccTLD too :D

.com goes always the first...
and third level domains nowadays are kind of worthless.

.com and .net are always preferrable. In some cases I might opt for a country code domain (.in or co.in) also. So it depends on the name and site for which the name has to be chosen. :imho:

.com

Country extensions are limited to the country's audience. I think so.
