Hello everyone!! :D

I'm thinking of making site for my school, Trinity Catholic College. I plan to make this REALLY big  Plan to talk to the principal and see if i can get this site featured in the newsletter to give it maximum exposure. B-)

What i'm looking in a CMS is the capability to do the following:
- Signup & Member system where people can signup and get access to the main features of the site.
- Admin can ban members, add news, etc.
- Photo Album where only members can upload into it and they can also create their own categories.
- Announcements section where members and admins can make announcements/post news.. and admins can delete any members announcement if they are not up to standard
- Contact area where members and admins can leave contact info such as MSN , email, etc.
- Chatroom that ONLY members can access
- Forum that ONLY members can access
- Ability to bulk email all members
- Calendar for admins and members to add events to
- Guestbook for members and non-members to sign
- Ability to add Custom pages, blocks
- Ability to install modifications and hacks (not really necessary but would be good)

If you think you have the PERFECT solution for me, please don't hesitate to PM me or reply.

Rewards WILL be given! size of award depends on how much i like the system you recommend :)

Thankyou so much!! :hehe:

mambo cms..with some other intergration...for example..adding flashchat ..intergrate it with mambo...
you can even intergrate vbulletin or phpbb with mambo.

A good CMS that can even integrate with phpbb and vbulletin would be subdreamer. It is a bit pricy but completely worth it if it does the job.

i would recommend PHPNuke via www.phpnuke.org witch is extreamly customizable with so many addons and themes. and another good one that isnt all that complicated but really good is PHPFusion via www.phpfusion.co.uk, i personally use both and there REALLY good but it all comes down to personal prefrence.

hmm the only reason why i am thinking of going with Mambo or PHP Nuke is because they are really popular and well known which means they will have ALOT of mod and hack sites.. I haven't really heard of Cpgnuke... Is it as popular as Mambo and PHP Nuke?

yup and its better {Secure}

cpgnuke.com :D some ppl use it for there school site...

I would recommend Mambo , I use it for most of my projects, it is customizable a lot, you can use the module you need, there are a lot of modules to add, there is a lot of resources on line and it has a really big community.
Porsche Brasil used it for their site....I think it mean something good. :)

Nuke and derivates are typically portals, mambo it is a framework.
Another I would suggest is "phpwebthings", if you are good with php this too allow a lot of modifications and it is a framework too.

Get subdreamer. It should do most of what you want and also if it is phpbb based you can just about everything you posted. I think everything actually. I have a very complex phpbb version I use that does everything you have listed except the gallery which I have not bothered to install yet.

I would say subdreamer.

One Word Answer
MAMBO
(That is it's Name now, not MAMBO CMS or Mambo Open Source )
various Reasons ,these are my top Ten
1/ Will do what you want.
2/ Aussie software ,so you can actually talk to developers
3/ I love it ,so must be good :hehe:
4/ Mambo Rules OK
5/ Do google on MAMBO and checkout popularity
6/ Wide Usage ,so always someone who can help
7/ I Really Love it, I Design mambo templates for a Major Company
(Name Can't be Disclosed due to NDA )
8/ Lots of add-on Modules and Components
9/ You can always ring me for Help
10/ If project gets too big for MAMBO,then the
Commercial Heavy Duty MegaGrunt Version "Jango" from Miro
(Original Developers of Mambo) can handle the Job.

I prefer Mkportal..(http://www.mkportal.it) coz it integrates with 4 popular
forums: phpbb, invision, simplemachine and vbulletin. they're currently
testing a new version that integrates oscommerce. this portal has the complete feature u always want on a portal. check the site out for more info.

i would use drupal (www.drupal.org) .. everything you mentioned is built in. the only thing im not 100% sure of is the chat, but im sure there is a module you can download to have that feature. unfortunately their website is moving servers, it may be down for a day or 2. its an awesome cms. very flexible.

also civicspace (www.civicspacelabs.org) which is built off of drupal. same thing www.spreadfirefox.com uses. you could probably find some info on their site while the drupal site is down :D.
